Over time, gaming chairs have become somewhat of a gamer’s must-have item. Some of us have evolved from the back-breaking dining chairs and cheap flat-pack office furniture, giving us fewer excuses than ever to leave the PC. A prominent name in the gaming chair industry is, of course, DXRacer. DXRacer has been a pioneer with gaming chairs for 20 years and today we are going to be looking at their latest, and possibly, most exciting line of chairs yet – The Air Series.
DXRacer was originally founded in 2001 and was actually a manufacturer of seats for luxury sports cars in its humble beginnings. Since then, DXRacer has been at the forefront of gaming chair innovation, providing us with many iterations of its quality chairs. DXRacer brings its vast experience to the table, focusing on comfort, support, and quality design, using high-quality materials and precise manufacturing.
DXRacer has customers all over the world, topping sales charts in as many as 52 countries. The brand’s history shows its roots are embedded in esports, with sponsorships in events, tournaments, and organizations.
Other DXRacer Gaming Chair Ranges:
Another great attribute to DXRacer is the fact they sell chair accessories, meaning you can always replace individual parts to your chair after years of use, rather than buying a new model.
The latest introduction to the DXRacer family is the Air series gaming chairs. These chairs have been manufactured using a recycled, high-strength mesh that is not only a sustainable design but also achieves maximum breathability, while also extending durability.
These chairs are a great option for those in hotter climates or, more importantly, gamers who tend to spend hours at their desk. The Air series utilizes a suspension spring, normally found in cars, providing a lightweight and supremely comfortable chair, with excellent levels of support.
The series brings two models to the table, the D7200 and D7100, with subtle differences in features and price. Both models are super breathable, versatile, and supportive, with similar aesthetics, shape, weight, and included extras.
The D7200 model has been engineered to be DXRacers ultimate gaming chair and comes in three different colors – Black, White & Cyan, and White & Red. The chair is a one size fits all type, labeled as ‘max size’, and can accommodate people up to 250lbs in weight and up to two meters tall.
Two features that separate this from the D1700 are its 4D armrests and the multi-functional tilt mechanism.
The D7100 model shares an identical aesthetic, size, and support, however, this slightly more affordable option features 3D armrests and a conventional tilt. This means that you won’t be able to slide the armrests forwards and backward but this is hardly used in my experience anyway.
The D7100 comes to shelves available in the Grey & Pink color only but retails for $30 less than the D7200.
Both models come with a free memory foam head pillow that looks so good you could probably use it on your travels too! Both models also feature 60mm PU casters.
The DXRacer Air Series gaming chairs look sublime. I’m a fan of mesh chairs like this as breathability and maximum comfort are two of the key areas I tend to look for in a chair. My preference is for the black D7200, as it is the color scheme that best fits in with my current setup but, I have to say, the twin-colored models look excellent and the design surpasses most, if not all, similar alternatives. The Air series freshens up the market and I for one can’t wait to try one of these out.
