Intel’s new Core Ultra 200 series is planned to launch on October 24th, 2024, and AMD seems to be teasing its rival as new rumors suggest that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be announced just a day after Intel’s launch on October 25th.
As for the 9800X3D launch, we are seeing multiple dates from multiple leakers, but all of them point to the fact that the CPU will be launched in early November.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D release window seemingly confirmed by multiple leakers
According to popular Chiphell leaker, wjm47196, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is now rumored to be announced on October 25th, with a launch date in early November. This date was also mentioned by other leakers, such as HXL on X and Zhangzhonghao on Chiphell. All sources expect AMD to unveil its 8-core processor on this date.
As for the launch, the CPU is expected to hit shelves in the first week of November. While an exact release date is still unclear, the potential launch windows includes; November 1-3 and November 1-10. Since November 1-3 falls from Friday to Saturday, which is a bit unusual for a CPU launch, the November 1-10 window seems more likely, with leakers like Hoang Anh Phu hinting at a November 7th release.
Additionally, we don’t think that AMD will announce details about the 9900X3D and 9950X3D models on the same day. With that said, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is expected to offer double-digit performance gains with much higher clock speeds than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D was in a league of its own and was one of the best gaming CPUs. With the Ryzen 9 9800X3D, AMD appears to be taking things to the next level, aiming for the 3D V-Cache CPU to set new benchmark records. However, the price point is still not revealed but we think the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will not be cheap.
