Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 is well underway, with new points of interest on the map, new weapons and a new Season 8 Battle Pass. As the Fortnite metaverse tries to fight off the dark forces of The Last Reality and their ominous purple cubes, the island’s inhabitants have had to take desperate measures, recruiting serial killer Cletus Cassidy, aka Carnage.

Who is Marvel’s Carnage in Fortnite Battle Royale?

Cletus Cassidy was a serial killer first introduced in Marvel Comics‘ Amazing Spider-Man #344 (February, 1991) that was apprehended by Venom and Eddie Brock, who were going through a hero phase at the time. While being captured by the lethal protectors of New York, the murderer came into contact with the extraterrestrial symbiote’s spawn and got alien powers of his own.

After escaping from the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane, he became one of the most brutal threats Venom and Spider-Man had ever faced. Carnage has a terrifying bloodlust and is ridiculously talented at using his alien symbiote in new and terrifyingly brutal ways. He has even gone toe-to-toe in combat with the entire Avengers team on more than one occasion.

Marvel Comics’ Carnage storyline has been loosely adapted into Venom Let There Be Carnage, a feature film that will release before the end of the year. In both Venom and it’s sequel Let There Be Carnage, Cletus Cassidy is portrayed by Woody Harrelson.

How do I get Carnage in Fortnite?

Carnage is the Tier 100 skin of Chapter 2 Season 8, which means you’ll have to unlock everything else in the Battle Pass before you can grab him. If you want to do that you can either complete the weekly challenges or buy the Battle Pass Stars that are used to unlock things with your V-Bucks.

To get Fortnite V-Bucks you can either complete seasonal challenges, play Fortnite: Save the World —a single player mode that was actively developed between May 2017 and June 2020— or purchase them with your own real world money.

What else from Venom Let There Be Carnage is in Fortnite?

Venom was already in Fortnite, as he was added during the mega-Marvel crossover event that was Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4. Alongside Carnage, two new symbiote mythic (light gold) weapons have been added to the game as part of  Chapter 2 Season 8. There’s a black one based on Venom and a red one based on Carnage.

What other Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Battle Pass skins are there?

There are several skins in the Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass, most of which are unique characters created by Epic Games.

  • Charlotte Skin
  • Toona Fish Skin
  • Kor Skin
  • Fabio Sparklemane Skin
  • J.B. Chimpanski Skin
  • Torin Skin
  • Carnage Skin

Toona Fish is this season’s customizable character, continuing the version of the concept introduced with Kymera in Chapter 2 Season 7.

There’s been no sign of Shonen Jump’s Naruto, which is disappointing after the leaks last week.

If you like symbiotes and Spider-Man then you’re in luck, as Sony and Insomniac have recently announced Spider-Man 2, a PS5 exclusive game that puts the spotlight on Venom.
