In case you haven’t heard, LG are launching their latest C4 OLED TV, with pre orders currently live. However, the LG C2 OLED remains highly relevant and it recently got some good news as LG will be supporting this older model for a few more years.

Our LG C2 OLED TV review gave the fan-favorite display plenty of praise, with the upgrade to the brighter LG OLED evo panel being one of the biggest changes. Following generations have do offer improvements, but nothing to make us think that throwing out the C2 any time soon is worth it. Especially with LG now bringing the latest webOS 24 version to the 2022 model.

LG provide webOS updates for 5 years

Back at CES 2024, early in January this year, LG’s keynote of course introduced the latest 2024 line-up – including the LG C4 which is now available to buy. Aside from a bunch of new hardware launches, they also touched on the software side of things.

While discussing webOS, they disclose that they’ll be providing LG webOS updates for five years, starting with their 2022-model TVs (the LG C2 included, condolences to any C1 or CX owners). This means that continued support for the C2 is coming to keep the operating system up to date and still highly relevant – it will soon be running the very some OS as the brand-new C4 OLED.

Which LG OLED TV should I get?

Yet to upgrade to an LG OLED TV? Well, there is now a great range of options to choose from. While we do say that the LG C2 is still relevant vs C4, the C3 has now dropped in priced considerably to make them pretty evenly-matched when it comes to value for money. If you want the very best, then the LG C4 is obviously a top pick and the improved refresh rate up to 144Hz may make one of the best for PC gaming.

Aside from the popular mid-range C-series, you can also opt for the cheaper B-series or more premium G-series. However, we think that the middle of the road option offers the best value for most consumers, especially thanks to the wider range of size options. The newer G3 and G4 do benefit from much higher peak luminance due to Micro Lens Array tech though.
