Hogwarts Legacy is finally here – with thousands of gamers currently exploring the Wizarding World. Just like with many games, there are numerous editions available. Early Access is now over, leading the way to the full launch of Hogwarts Legacy.

• The Standard Edition

Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the franchise, or perhaps a long-time member of the Harry Potter Fan Club, we’d recommend dodging the Collector’s Edition and instead focusing attention on the remaining two editions – the Deluxe and Standard. These are the two editions you should be focusing on if you want to compare some in-game goodies before you make your purchase.

Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe v Standard edition

The Deluxe Edition comes in both digital and physical forms. Both versions include the following:

• Standard full game of Hogwarts Legacy
• Dark Arts Cosmetic Set
• Dark Arts Battle Arena
• Thestral Mount
• Onyx Hippogriff Mount
• 72 Hours Early Access

The digital deluxe version also includes:

• Dark Arts Garrison Hat
• Cross-Gen Upgrade

Is Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe worth it?

The Hogwarts Deluxe Edition comes in at $79.99 while the standard edition retails for $69.99. So, what does that extra $10 get you? The main draw for many would have been the three days early access, but as the release date now here, early access is not worth it.

However, the big draw is the Dark Arts Combat Arena. This lets you practice combat and level up your character faster – which will be key for those looking to try and tackle the game as quickly as possible.

Combat in Hogwarts is one of the fastest ways to acquire XP, so the completionists amongst you should definitely lean towards the Deluxe Edition.

Finally, remember you are stuck with what edition you buy early on in the release. There is currently no way of upgrading and so it’s a safer option to head for the Deluxe package if the Combat Arena holds appeal.

Hogwarts Legacy Standard Edition – is it enough?

Most players will be happy to snap up the Standard Edition of the game now that early access is over. If you aren’t too worried about the additional Dark Arts gear and mounts, which serve as cosmetic bonuses, Standard Edition may be for you. Although it’s true that you won’t have immediate access to the Dark Arts Combat Arena, that doesn’t mean you’re locked out forever. You can access the Dark Arts Battle Arena add-on through a separate purchase if you change your mind later down the line once the pack is available separately.

The Deluxe Edition is certainly a nice choice if you want the full Hogwarts Legacy experience with the additional cosmetics to boot. Since early access has ended, one of the main selling points for a lot of players is off the table though. The choice is all yours to make!
