Street Fighter 6 is Capcom’s latest installment in the popular fighting franchise. It’s been a while since a new Street Fighter game has been released and many may be wondering what consoles it’s available for. If you prefer to play games on your Nintendo Switch, we’re here to answer the question of is Street Fighter 6 coming to Switch?

Is Street Fighter 6 available on Switch?

Street Fighter 6 is not announced to be coming to Switch, so it’s unlikely the game will release for the Nintendo console. The game launches on consoles with better hardware like the Xbox Series X|S. This can be a big bummer to fans but there is some good news for Street Fighters fans with a Switch. By looking at previous games in the series we can see that only a handful have ever released on the Switch.

If you want to play Street Fighter on the console, you’re choices are slim as you’ll find games like Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Street Fighter 2. Games like Street Fighter 4 were console exclusive and only released on PlayStation 4 and not other platforms.

Without official confirmation from Capcom, it appears as if Street Fighter 6 will not be coming to the Switch at all. The Street Fighter 6 Open Beta didn’t release for Switch either, nor did the demo, or closed beta in December. Plus, none of the game’s trailers have shown it to be coming to the Switch at all. However, if you do want to play the latest fighting game and explore Metro City’s World Tour mode, take part in online Battle Hub matches, or compete in the Fighting Ground mode, you have a few consoles to choose from.

Why isn’t Street Fighter 6 coming to Switch?

This may be an issue of hardware. Although, we do not think it’s graphics, but instead processing power. The roster of characters don’t look like they’re too extensive for the console, so there may be other reasons. Ryu, Luke, and even the iconic Chun-Li are not graphically intensive. So having a well-known character fight someone like Ken might need a lot of background work.

When the release date comes, we may hear about a port to Nintendo Switch. The control scheme is not hard to transfer over, as it has been transferred to the PC, which is arguably harder to port to controls-wise. Players would be able to execute combos, special moves, and even put characters into overdrive with no issues on the controls.

We imagine that if Nintendo pushes for it, players will play as Blanka, JP, Akuma and many more characters after the game releases.

Can I play the Street Fighter 6 Open Beta on Switch?

No, unfortunately, you cannot play the Street Fighter 6 Open Beta on Switch. The game is not coming to Switch and the beta isn’t either.
