Dying Light is a zombie-survival game from 2015 developed and published by Techland. With the upcoming Dying Light 2 that has approximately 500 hours of playtime, many people wanted to replay or just experience the first Dying Light.

Dying Light’s main story lasts for around 18 hours. If you want to spend more time with the game and complete most of the side missions and take your time, then the game will take approximately 40 hours to complete. If you are a completionist like me the game might take you up to 60 hours to get all there is to explore.

Dying Light: The Following is an expansion to the main game with its own map, story and for the first time in the game vehicles. Its main story is about 10 hours with some side quests for another 5 hours which gives around 15 hours. Of course, if you want to max out your driving level and explore the whole map it can take up longer.

In addition, Hellraid is another add-on that was introduced in 2021 lasts for around 2-4 hours. It was created from the scrapped project by the same name. Originally it was supposed to be a stand-alone title, but after a couple of years of zero information, it was announced that the project has been scrapped and its assets were moved to create a DLC for Dying Light.

The game is a lot of fun and with Dying Light 2 just around the corner, it is worth visiting Harran if you have never experienced it before.

The game holds up very well to today’s standards and it’s worth spending $20 on a sale to get the Platinum Edition of Dying Light with all the contents released over the last 7 years.
