Oh, burn-in! That’s a valid concern when it comes to OLED monitors. After all, nobody wants a ghostly image of their desktop icons or a game UI lingering on their screen for eternity. So, does the Acer Predator X45 have burn-in? Well, it’s a bit complicated.

What is burn in?
OLED displays are vulnerable to burn-in because of their organic material composition. This organic material can deteriorate over time, causing image retention or permanent burn-in. But don’t freak out just yet! OLED technology has advanced really far, and manufacturers have implemented a considerable number of measures to prevent or mitigate burn-in issues.

Acer Predator X45: Anti burn in features
In the case of the Acer Predator X45, it uses an LG Display WRGB OLED panel that reportedly has a lifespan of over 100,000 hours. That’s a lot of gaming hours! Additionally, the monitor features a pixel shift technology that slightly moves the image on the screen to prevent static elements from staying in one spot for too long. So, that’s good news!
As always, there is also the ol’ trusty screen saver in the settings, so make sure to configure it up so it kicks in after some time of inactivity! And if that’s not enough, you can also adjust the monitor’s brightness and contrast settings to further reduce the risk of burn-in.
Acer Predator X45: Should you worry about burn in?
Now, we’re not saying that burn-in is impossible on the Acer Predator X45. If you leave the same image on the screen for days on end, you might still end up with a faint ghost of it. But if you use the monitor like a normal person, playing games and watching videos, and doing all the other things you do on a computer, you should be just fine.
So, to answer the burning question (pun intended), the Acer Predator X45 does have the potential for burn-in, like any other OLED monitor. However, the panel has a lifespan of more than 11 years, and the monitor comes with several features to tackle the itching problem. So, game on, and don’t worry too much about burn-in.
