On November 3, AMD Radeon 7900 XT was unveiled; on December 13, AMD’s second flagship GPU will be available. The 7900 XT is quite equivalent to the RTX 4080. And like you, we’d like to see a side-by-side evaluation of this generation’s GPUs in actual use.

Nvidia is concentrating all of its efforts on enhancing deep learning and ray tracing performance. Hence, the improvements in core architecture enable the company to produce GPUs that are more powerful. On the other hand, AMD has created a GPU that is cognizant of efficiency. It is tilting its upgrades to obtain the maximum performance per watt out of its graphics cards.

The RX 7900 XT features a greater VRAM and more transistors. Additionally, AMD’s XT has a base clock of 1500 MHz. The fact that AMD’s performance is lower than Nvidia’s (2205 MHz) is evidence of AMD’s efforts to provide more effective performance and efficiency.

RDNA 3 performance

Power is more important to Nvidia. This GPU has a gaming frequency of 2000 MHz, according to AMD. This is the clock speed that will be used for gaming. In order to achieve a faster clock speed while also extracting more power from the GPU, the Ada Lovelace design utilizes its cores more effectively than the previous generation.

On December 13, the RX 7900 XT will go on sale at an initial price of $899. On the other hand, the RTX 4080’s starting MSRP is $1,199. The difference between the two cards is $300. So, based just on pricing, who is the winner? RX 7900 XT.

In conclusion, AMD dominates in terms of performance-per-watt and price-per-dollar. Still, the Nvidia RTX 4080 will provide the best overall gaming experience. Since the latter has enhanced its technology to profit from deep learning, it has resulted in numerous advantages. Cost isn’t one of them, though.

As it is likely compared to the 4080 it is meant to be on par with. Whilst still improving on its top end of the previous generation.
