Is Diablo 4 on Steam Deck? In short – no.
Valve’s handheld PC gaming console made waves since its release, and continues to do so, so it’s no wonder folks are asking if Diablo is on Steam Deck, or if Diablo 4 will be steam deck compatible. It seems like the perfect game for the Steam Deck right? Well, unfortunately not.

Will Diablo 4 be on Steam Deck?
The headline here is that the lack of official news about Diablo 4 being on Steam Deck, means that, as it stands, we have to answer this question with a ‘no’. It’s similar to the proposition of will Diablo 4 be on Nintendo Switch, really, in that while it’s a ‘no’ now, it might be that we can hope for a release down the line. After all, it might well take longer nowadays to optimise and refine such large, demanding games for portable consoles.
As a result it’s even harder to say whether or when or if Diablo 4 will be optimised for Steam Deck, or made ‘Steam Deck compatible’. This might come down the line with patches if Blizzard fancies officially releasing it ‘onto’ or promoting it as a bona fide Steam deck title.
Can you run Blizzard games on Steam Deck?
Yes – but with a caveat and work around or two. You’ll have to learn a bit of a process of how to play battlenet games on Steam Deck, and follow some tips and tricks in order to do so. Whether this will then be applicable for Diablo 4 remains to be seen, but the fact that it is possible – without official word or support – is something for determined players at least.
As a result, it may be that you can run Diablo 4 on Steam Deck in the future, but it might not come with Blizzard’s blessing – or, importantly, proper optimisation or compatibility built into the game.

Will the Diablo 4 beta be on Steam Deck?
Well, if you can work the same magic of getting any other Blizzard game running on Steam Deck, as per the above info, then, yes, you could get the Diablo 4 beta on Steam Deck. Remember you’ll have to pre-order Diablo 4 – and do that today – if you want to get early access to the open beta, Steam Deck or not.
Remember, it is only a beta though so it might not be totally ‘worth it’ if you have another means – Diablo 4 is on PS4 and will be on Xbox One, for example, meaning those on older console will still be able to hop on.
Can you get Battle.net on Steam Deck?
This is a great question that resonates with players beyond Diablo 4 as a single game and its betas. The short answer is ‘yes, with an if’, and the long answer is ‘no with a but’. As we briefly mentioned above when thinking about Diablo 4 on its own, it is possible to get Battle.net running on Steam Deck, but you have to go through a bit of a process to do it. If you’re willing to put in the hard graft and follow a list of instructions, then, yes, it is very possible. However, the but is that it’s not strictly ‘official’ and as a result easy – don’t get us wrong, it’s not illegal but because it’s not a native thing or process, it feels a bit leftfield.

Will there be more than 5 classes in Diablo 4?
Five playable classes have been announced, but fans are suggesting that a Paladin character may return. The latest Diablo 4 trailer features an army backed by Inarius, marching into Hell with shields bearing the symbol of the Zakarum, the religious organization from Diablo 2. Based on those Zakarum symbols, fans believe it’s likely that Diablo 4 will bring us the return of the Paladins.
