With those staring at the Resident Evil 4 Remake release time countdown, knowing what platform the game is definitely on is only going to help. And for such a headline game it is a bit of a melon scratcher.
Can I play Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS4?
Yes! Capcom has confirmed that PS4 owners will be able to play the Resident Evil 4 Remake when it comes out later this week! This is great news for anyone still rocking the last-gen Sony console and means that they won’t miss out on what’s likely going to be one of the games of the year. As for details on the specific compromises that the devs and the game may have had to make to get it running on last-gen hardware, we’ll have to wait and see.
What consoles is Resident Evil 4 Remake on?
This is where things get interesting. While the game coming out on PS4 would suggest that all of the last-gen consoles would be covered along with the current-gen machines, this just isn’t the case. For clarity, Resident Evil 4 Remake is confirmed to be on PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S (at time of writing).
This means that those asking is Resident Evil 4 Remake on Switch are out of luck, along with those on Xbox one. And the jury is still out – at least ‘officially’ – on those asking is the Resident Evil 4 Remake is on Steam Deck too (or at least optimises for Steam Deck).
