AMD is giving us a new range of CPUs already. It’s been over a year since the release of the AM5 platform which brought many improvements and innovations, it is now bringing out the new APUs to improve it further. In that case, when is the Ryzen 8000G release date and what do they have to offer?
The new range of desktop CPUs is an update to the AM5 platform. Moving away from the 7000 series naming scheme it seems to distinguish this range of CPUs from its standard one. Putting it in line with the Ryzen 8000 laptops instead, as these desktop processors change a key thing with their setup, and that is improved integrated graphics. But that does put into question what might the next range be called, but for now, let’s see what this range brings.
When is the Ryzen 8000G series release date?
AMD announced its new range of Ryzen 8000G series during its CES 2024 event, providing a great deal of tech choices to consider for your next build. January 8th started off the tech week at Vegas and both Nvidia and AMD gave a great look at what to expect from the year ahead.
In that information, it provided the release date of the 8000G series to be January 31st. Following a month of many releases, it comes complimented by the RX 7600 XT release as well. Although they have onboard graphics strong enough on their own, they are also easily upgraded with a dedicated graphics card that can offer a boost later down the line when you want an improvement and have the funds.
Ryzen 8000G series specs and lineup
The new Ryzen 8000G series provides four new AMD processors to the lineup. Although with that, the lowest option is only for partner systems, so only the top three options are for consumers to be able to purchase. We take a look at what sets each of these apart and you might be able to find the right one for your needs.
Below you can find the 8000G specifications for the range of CPUs, you can see how they differ from each other. The 8700G, 8600G, 8500G, and 8300G are the four upcoming processors.
