Assassin’s Creed Mirage is launching on October 5th 2023, and boy does it look beautiful. But the big question is, “is your gaming laptop up to the challenge?” Don’t worry, we’ve got your back with this carefully curated list of some of the best gaming laptops around, perfect for AC Mirage’s 9th century Baghdad.

If you’re lurking around the city’s dark and murky underworld, or getting immersed into the fray of battle, flaying Templars left right and center, you can guarantee that your laptop will have a hell of a time playing Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed in the franchise, after-all, although the gameplay hasn’t changed that dramatically over the years, one thing that certainly has is the graphical fidelity. In fact, it’s been one of the most consistently challenging graphical titles out there for some time. AC Mirage is no different, take a look at the system requirements, and you’ll easily see that this monster requires only the best.

Let’s get to those recommendations then shall we?

Can I Play AC Mirage on My Laptop?

Yes. Fortunately Ubisoft have been really specific with the system requirements for AC Mirage, giving us a set of 4 different recommended specs, and performance figures for the lot. 1080p, 1440p and 4K are all covered, and the included graphics preset as well, this even before any GPU optimizations or tinkering. Nice. That said, this is a guideline, and you’ve got to remember that 60 fps is a relative minimum in the world of gaming monitors these days, you can find even faster 144 Hz screens out there too, which will deliver a far superior experience.

Ubisoft also has some general requirements as well, including DX12, Windows 10/11, and it also recommends an SSD for storage too (we have a list of the top SSDs if you’re curious).

HP’s Victus is classy, sleek, white and packs some serious performance at an awesome price. Ok so the overall quality isn’t as flawless as some other options out there, but the bang for the buck is solid, and with a Ryzen 7 5800H (equivalent to roughly a 5600X), 16GB of RAM and an RTX 3050 Ti in its top config, it should be more than capable of driving around 40–45 fps in Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed game at 1080p.

Alternatively you could try out the Acer Nitro 5, which we reviewed recently.

Best Gaming Laptop for Assassin’s Creed Mirage at 1440p

Razer’s Blade 14 Gaming Laptop is a bit pricier than our last pick, but it more than makes up for it with an RTX 3080, 14” QHD display, and a Ryzen 9 5900HX 8 core processor as well. Couple that with a super sleek design, and a 165 Hz Refresh rate, and it’ll absolutely monster AC Mirage. In fact at 1440p expect anywhere between 60–100 fps on Ultra at 1440p. And all that for just under the $1900 mark, yes please. In fact, we got hands on with the latest Razer Blade 14 back in March, you can check out our full review here.

Best Laptop for 4K Assassinos

Ok we’ve gone ham on this pick. We’re talking Core i9-13980HX, 64GB of DDR5 RAM minimum, RTX 4080, 2TB SSD, 17” 4K 144Hz refresh rate, the works. Basically if you could think of a high-end component and slam it in a laptop, this would be it. Ok it isn’t exactly super affordable, but this is 4K gaming baby.

There are certainly more affordable options out there, one of our favorite picks is Razer’s Blade 16, complete with RTX 4090, however thanks to its more slim-line body, and less cooling potential, it generally tends to underperform compared to the MSI Titan GT77.

Final Word on Assassin’s Creed Mirage

And there you have it folks, our complete list of recommendations carefully picked out to get the most from your Assassin’s Creed Mirage journey. We could be cheesy here and say some clever pun about mirages or deserts or gaming being our creed, but we’ll keep it light, after-all, we wouldn’t want to kill… the competition on this one.

Really though, AC Mirage’s system requirements are fairly minimal, we’re pretty convinced it’ll even run on a Steam Deck given the chance, so whatever your choice of laptop you should be fine, to bounce around the city of Baghdad in frame rates galore.
