The 6700 XT is a solid graphics card for 1440p and 1080p gaming. However, it struggles with ray tracing, which in the current market is understandable. The “Navi 22” chip for the Radeon RX 6700 XT is considerably smaller and has half as many compute units and stream processors or SM as its larger counterpart.

The 6700 XT is a great option for both 1080p and 1440p gaming.

1080p is a good option for high refresh rate monitors, even in the most competitive games at the highest settings.

When using great details at 1440p, its 12GB of memory is most noticeable. Even a taxing game like Metro Exodus runs well at well over 60 FPS on the extreme setting.

The Navi 22 GPU at the heart of the card can be kept cool using MSI’s Mech cooler. The card can operate at high boost clocks without generating excessive noise.

Although AMD’s Smart Access Memory can provide some games with a significant performance boost, the $479 Radeon RX 6700 XT performs more similarly to the RTX 3060 Ti than the RTX 3070, and it isn’t even close to being as powerful as Nvidia’s cards when it comes to ray tracing.

Ray tracing and DLSS may or may not be significant to you. Your choice may depend on the games you choose. The RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 are comparable in terms of ray-tracing performance, but they are only offered for $649.

The 6700 XT has an advantage over AMD due to the availability of FreeSync displays and the latter’s rival FSR 2.0 technology.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT is an amazing card for 1440p and high-refresh-rate 1080p gaming, as long as you don’t mind its inadequate ray tracing capabilities. But keep your fingers crossed that you can find this reference model at MSRP. Suppose you can turn on Smart Access Memory without a doubt.
