The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is a superb 1440p graphics card that lowers the cost of the RDNA 2 architecture. However, depending on the games, you want to play, and how close in price it is to the RTX 3070, there might be better options.

The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT costs $479/£420, which puts it closer to the RTX 3070 in terms of price, while its performance lags the RTX 3060 Ti in enough games to be noticeable. Anyone who had high hopes for this graphics card to break Nvidia’s monopoly on the graphics card market will be dissatisfied.

Nevertheless, there is sufficient space for 4K to run smoothly in older games like Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers.  This is due to the Radeon RX 6700 XT starting to underperform when ray tracing is enabled at the card’s target resolution, just like the RX 6800 series. For this graphics card, we would still stick with 1440p, and if you want to enable ray tracing, we would further lower the resolution to 1080p.

Is the 6700 XT graphics card worth it?

Gaming monitors in 1440p are becoming quite popular and for a good reason.

The RX 5700 XT has a lot to offer if this is your ideal range. Ray tracing is possible with the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, although better graphics cards are available today.

This card can provide a peek of ray tracing if you only want to turn on the effects to see how they seem before turning them off for high frame rates.

While the performance of this graphics card is good right out of the box, it may be quickly increased by turning on Smart Access Memory in the BIOS.

The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is still a pricey graphics card at $479.

To counter Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling, AMD has been working on its FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, but it is still under development. This is crucial if you want high frame rates and care about next-generation eye candy.
