RTX 4090 stock is jumping in and out frequently, we will be trying to keep on top of stock status and continuously updating our RTX 4090 Stock Tracker.

The next generation of cards in the RTX 4000 series has finally been announced at Nvidia’s GTC keynote. There is a lot of anticipation as to what these cards can achieve, even with their pricing.

The new cards are expected to bring a lot of performance with them. Although it may just be with the likes of DLSS 3 and updated RT cores. With new and updated technology in them, there is plenty to expect.

Now when the RTX 30 series came out it came right into a shortage. With the crypto boom and scalpers taking advantage, GPUs became expensive. And it could have been the potential for that to happen to the new generation too.

However, before we reached this stage, the market shifted back. The crypto market fell and Ethereum has shifted to proof of stake, eliminating the need for GPUs so it’s unlikely to cause any concern.

And then graphics cards returned to MSRP over time, and so it does give us hope of a good situation for this release. Although someone didn’t inform Nvidia who has got rather big pricing on its components now, it’ll be good to see what AMD RDNA 3 has to offer.

Will you be able to buy the RTX 4090 on the planned release date?

Rumors suggest we are getting a healthier amount of stock for the RTX 4090 release on the 12th. Still, we expect demand to be quite high and may outstretch the first batch of supply fairly quickly.

Luckily, RTX 30 series cards are the lowest in price they have ever been, so many may bite the bullet and purchase one of these instead, alleviating some of the demand.

Should you buy the RTX 4090 or settle for the more affordable RTX 3090?

If you are looking to buy the RTX 4090, who are we to stop you? It is after all the most powerful graphics card available.

Looking to pair that with a new Ryzen 7000 Ryzen 9 CPU and DDR5 RAM? Why not, you’d only have one of the best gaming PCs available.

Well, everyone might not be you, the one who is about to purchase some serious hardware, instead, others may wonder if they should. The RTX 3090 is a superb card by all accounts and the good news here is that it continues to lower in price. This means unless you are hell-bent on having the best hardware, a 3090, RTX 3080, or 3070 could be all you actually need.

For flawless 4K gaming, you may even want to consider the RTX 3090 Ti, the stand-out card from the RTX 30 series.

What time can I buy the RTX 4090?

You are going to be able to buy a RTX 4090 at around 2 PM BST/ 3 PM CEST/ 6:30 PM IST/ 9 AM EDT/ 8 AM CDT/ 6 AM PDT. We are estimating the above but this is when retailers plan to go live. We will update you as we find out more.

RTX 4090 release date confirmed

Update: The only card of the newest announcement to get a release date, the RTX 4090 is set to come out on the 12th of October 2022. And it is going to be a staggered release with the flagship first and the rest following a month after the initial lineup.

Following the trend of previous releases, we expect a two-year gap from the previous card. This would put the 4090 launch date around September 2022.

However, there has been a lot of speculation and rumors that the release date may have changed and be different. With multiple factors contributing to the possibility.

Initially, the launch was rumored for early Q3 but now it is likely further away. Likely as there have been a lot of excess cards piling up as of recent. And Nvidia will want to get rid of it before the next selection arrives.

However, if the AMD Radeon releases before then Nvidia will be sure to not lose out any market share.

Is it just the RTX 4090 you can buy on the launch date?

Yes, so far it is just the RTX 4090 confirmed for the 12th of October, with the RTXC 4080 to follow soon after.

There is no news on the final SKU – RTX 4070 just yet, however, we are predicting an early 2023 release date.

RTX 4000 series lineup

So far there are a few graphics cards we can expect to see with the launch of next-gen cards. Similar to the previous launch we expect to see three different cards.

And although there has been an announcement that the initial release will be the flagship. And we do have three cards but not the ones we expected and in fact, there are two models of the same name in the 4080. With the 4070 not seen as of yet.

RTX 4090 buy price

Update: From the announcement we also got a price for the card, it is set to launch at a price of $1,599. Which is in fact a $100 increase over the 3090s launch price.

An unlikely spec to be confirmed or rumored there is some speculation we can consider. The price will likely be the same if not slightly higher than previous offerings of the same caliber.

The RTX 3090 was the first of its class and has a suggested price of $1,499 USD. So we expect to see the 4090 in the range of $1,499-1,999 USD.

Now that the card has been announced we have a list of some of the RTX 4090 specifications. Not quite the full extent as of yet but there are some basics to read.

So with that, we know the card is set to feature the AD102-300 GPU based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. It is made with TSMCs 4nm process creating a 608mm² die with 76.3 billion transistors.

The core will contain 16,384 CUDA cores, which will be able to boost to 2.52 GHz and have a base clock of 2.23 GHz. This is then supported by 24GB of GDDR6X memory across a 384-bit bus.

The card will have a power of 450W that will need a PCIe gen 5 connector or adapter. And in terms of size, the Founder’s Edition card at least will be 304mm long, 137mm wide, and take up 3-slots (61mm).
