Today we’re going to show you how to delete Epic Games account. As one of the rivals of Steam, it’s definitely a struggle to overtake them as the top store for PC gaming, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have a lot to offer – exclusive in-house developed games, software, and the occasional free game too!

Despite all that, you may have decided it’s time to delete your Epic Games account, probably because you no longer use it, or just want to start afresh.

Before deleting your Epic account, please be aware that this cannot be reversed. Epic Games warn customers, so make sure you 100% want to do this before proceeding. If you are unsure, you could just disable your account or uninstall Epic Games Launcher from your PC or Mac instead.

How to delete Epic Games account

Open account settings

Log into your Epic Games account, hover the mouse over your username in the top right corner and click “Account” from the drop-down menu.

Request account delete

In the “General” tab, scroll down to the very bottom to the “Delete Account” section and click the “Request Account Delete” button.

Enter security code

An “Enter Security Code” window will now pop up, this means a code has been sent to your email account that is linked to your Epic Games account, enter the code and click “Confirm Delete Request”

Confirm account deletion

You will then be asked why you are deleting your account, you can either answer from the drop-down list or simply skip this step.

At the end, after 15 seconds, you will be logged out and your account will be disabled. The deletion of your account will take place in 14 days. This also provides you with a chance to change your mind.

Whatever the reason may be, you now know how to delete an Epic Games account, the process may seem long-winded but it is a bit of extra protection against accidentally losing all your investments. Don’t forget you can disable your account as an alternative but if you still plan on deleting just make sure you never want to see those games again as they won’t be coming back (unless they are free).
