Budget Black Friday gaming PC deals

Budget is obviously an ambiguous term but for the sake of this article, we are going to class everything between $500 and $1000 as budget (lower-end). Of course, the closer to $500 we get, the more entry-level a gaming PC is.

Entry-level gaming PCs serve a purpose but be warned, they do not offer a decent gaming experience and they will age very fast.

Ideally, you want to find a gaming PC that is around $800 and above. With computers in this price bracket, they will often feature older generation components but come with a dedicated graphics card rather than integrated graphics. You aren’t going to be able to play many games above 1440p with PCs of this caliber – in fact, 1080p gaming is what you should be aiming for with these.

Aside from older generation CPUs and GPUs, you may find a lot of these systems only have 8GB of RAM and 500GB of SSD storage.

Are there any Black Friday gaming PC deals to avoid?

If you’re starting off by looking at this page, it’s good to take note of the various retailers and brands we are showcasing. All of these will be a trustworthy source to grab that gaming PC deal this year. Prebuilds are excellent for saving you time and effort, but you don’t want your time wasted by a low-quality build from a cheap brand, or retailer.

Also, it’s generally just worth avoiding any deals which don’t provide you with what you need. It’s easy to be persuaded by the discount, but it’s important to do plenty of prior research to know exactly the kind of specs you need. For example, what games will you want to run? Both right now and in the future. Perhaps you want to go down the self-building right – it’s always worth weighing up the options available for your budget and situation.

Where can you buy a Black Friday gaming PC deal in 2022?

No matter if you are in the US, Canada, the UK, or the rest of Europe, big prebuilt manufacturers and major retailers around the world are going to be taking part in Black Friday.

Last year’s Black Friday gaming PC deals

Here’s what we had to say regarding last year’s gaming PC deals:

“Every year, the Black Friday gaming PC deals appear to get better and better. The main focus for Black Friday shoppers is going to be finding value, which can get a bit tricky when it comes to gaming PCs and what you should buy. In our experience, it will be prebuilt gaming systems with older generation parts, often around the $1000 mark that get the best discounts. This doesn’t mean there won’t be great deals on premium desktops with modern components but the vast majority will be budget to mid-range.

You need to be aware of your own gaming needs before Black Friday arrives. Take note of what games you want to play, what settings you wish to play those games in, and what resolution monitor you have/ going to get. This is important as we need to make sure the deal you end up choosing can handle your preferences.

When we talk about older generation components, it isn’t going to be a concern for the vast majority. These older spec gaming PCs will still be able to handle most, if not all games in high settings, however, if you are looking to play in 4K, they might not cut it.

Below we are going to outline what to look for when shopping for the best premium and budget Black Friday gaming PC deals, so when the time comes, you know exactly what to look for.

High-end Black Friday gaming PC deals: what to look for

We are going to class gaming PCs over $1500 as high-end, which in theory you could be saving a few hundred dollars on come Black Friday, so take this with a pinch of salt. High-end systems feature powerful and recent components, such as RTX 30-series graphics cards and 11th-gen intel or Ryzen 5000-series CPUs.

Despite being the latest, these CPUs and GPUs can vary in terms of power but they are more expensive and more powerful in comparison to older generation parts.

A high-end gaming PC should have at least 16GB of fast RAM included, along with a minimum of 1TB of SSD storage too.

Should you build a gaming PC or buy a gaming PC Black Friday deal?

Building a gaming PC not only gives you more value out of the new system but it can also be quite rewarding to learn a new skill. Building your own has a knock-on effect and when it comes time for upgrades, you can install them yourself too. Unfortunately, with current stock issues on certain components, prebuilt gaming PCs could be the way to go, especially if they are due a huge discount on Black Friday.

The main selling point behind a prebuilt is it saves you the hassle. We understand that not everyone knows how to build a computer and may not even have the time to learn this new skill, so the convenience of a prebuilt makes a lot of sense. Of course, there are many more benefits to buying a prebuilt gaming PC from manufacturers, obviously, it takes the stresses away from finding all the compatible components, while also preventing damage to said components when the time comes to build it.

With a prebuilt gaming PC, you are going to be able to send it back to the manufacturer if anything goes wrong. Furthermore, if you feel you need an upgrade, suppliers will often do this for you or at least insist you send it to them for an upgrade. Manufacturers will also dish out a warranty, usually covering parts and labor for around a year but some companies offer impressive warranties and you can always spend extra on insurance, giving you a lengthy/lifetime warranty.

Should I wait for Black Friday gaming PC deals to start?

If you’re in no rush to buy, then we’d say yes. Black Friday savings are great, but when it comes to gaming PCs, there are only going to be a select one or two models with huge savings, with the rest receiving a smaller amount off. Now we are quite close to Black Friday, it is worth waiting to see what offers the different retailers have on prebuilt as there is likely to be a model that suits your gaming needs.

If you have saved up to buy a gaming PC at full price, hold out and wait for the Black Friday deals before making your final purchase. The worst-case scenario is you’ll just have to order that full price beast afterwards if no suitable deals flow your way. You should be able to find something that suits you with deals listed on this page though.

Tips and tricks to know during Black Friday gaming PC deals

With so much going on during Black Friday it’s easy to get overwhelmed and forget about some of the best shopping practices. You can find yourself getting lost in the sea of products and price drops. So, let’s go through a few pointers to help you bag the best possible Black Friday gaming PC deal.

First off, let’s start with a massive one, Amazon Prime. If you aren’t a regular user of Amazon and look towards this online retail giant during Black Friday, you may be able to take advantage of the 30-day free trial – helping you secure free delivery on many more products. More savings to be had, even at the checkout. Similarly, you can also look at deals that benefit from coupons or previous membership with particularly retailers – do they have any exclusive member discounts?

It’s also important to look into any bundle deals as well this Black Friday. Similar or accompanying products are often bundled together, saving you a little extra cash and providing more value for money. We’ve seen some products included in a bundle completely free through pre-order bonuses for example.

Finally, you should also be aware that some brands or retailers will be offering further discounts if you trade-in old tech. We often see this with the likes of cell phones, but it can also pop up for other products too.

Features to consider when buying a Gaming PC this Black Friday

Obviously there are a ton of components to consider when it comes to a PC build. If you’re buying a prebuilt system, you don’t have to worry about all of that and the compatibility issues you may have otherwise faced. Though, despite that, you may still want to know some pointers to look out for, so you’re not clueless to what your money is buying.

  • The main components. When looking at PC builds, you’ll often see that the first two things mentioned are the CPU (processor) and GPU (graphics card). These are the two biggest parts of your PC, delivering the power you need to get on with gaming smoothly. It’s worth checking out system requirements for your favorite games in order to know you’ll be able to run them with no hiccups.
  • Next up, is the memory (RAM). It’s important to have ample memory – at the very least 16GB – to make sure your other components can cope with the workload assigned to them. This is another key component that you’ll find top-billed on specifications you come across when searching for those Black Friday deals.
  • Disk space. Definitely not something to ignore. With modern games requiring crazy high amounts of storage these days, it’s important you have enough space to cope – especially if you’ll be using your gaming PC for recording videos too. It’s also essential at this point to have an SSD in your build for much faster loading times.

Gaming PC Black Friday FAQs

Were gaming PC Black Friday deals worth it last year?

It is true that the prices have gone up in the gaming PC industry. There has never been so much demand and the supply issues the world has been facing only exaggerated this more. That being said, there is still some value in a prebuilt gaming PC and we will be finding the best deals we can to ensure you get the most value out of this Black Friday.

Going off previous years, there is no reason not to expect great gaming PC deals once again. It can be a bit tricky to find the best prebuilt PC Black Friday deals but we’ve got a good nack for it and will be sifting through the duds for your delectation.

Will gaming PC prices drop on Black Friday?

Yes, gaming PC prices will go down when Black Friday hits but there will be a mixture of great and false deals. By false deals, we simply mean the price hasn’t really moved much or the MSRP has been increased to make it look like a better deal. In either case, we will find the best gaming PC deals and make sure you walk away happy.

Is Black Friday the best time to buy a gaming PC?

Normally, yes, as this is when brands and retailers alike reduce the prices of all things electronic. It doesn’t mean if you miss out you need to be too concerned but if you can do your research in advance of Black Friday and note exactly what you want plus how much it costs, you are in a good position when the sales event arrives.
There are going to be other small sales in the run-up to Christmas, however, for the best deals, Black Friday is the best place to shop for a new gaming PC.

When do Black Friday gaming PC sales take place?

In 2022, Black Friday officially lands on November 25th, though we will be seeing a ton of deals appearing in the weeks prior to that date too – gaming PCs included due to their popularity.

Will gaming PC stock levels be stable this Black Friday?

It’s true that high-end computers, particularly parts/components, were suffering a significant drop in stock availability in previous years. But, despite all that, we should be seeing stock levels at their most stable in recent times – especially for prebuilt systems. Just remember that it doesn’t mean they won’t be highly-contested though!
