The Ryzen 5 7600X is an impressive CPU that can take on every task. But when considering what graphics card to pair it with there is some consideration. So what GPU bottlenecks the Ryzen 5 7600X?
CPU bottleneck occurs when the processor can’t keep up with what the GPU is producing. This is most likely at lower resolutions where the GPU is so powerful it doesn’t take many resources. So it will be waiting for CPU instructions.
So many of the higher power cards aimed at higher resolutions are going to be a problem for the lower-end CPU. And it will start with the RTX 3080, which will be too powerful for the CPU for low-end resolutions such as 1080p.
This means all the greater cards aimed at 4K will make the 7600X a bottleneck. Including the RX 6900 XT or RTX 3090 Ti. As well as any of the new current-gen cards as the RX 7900 XTX or RTX 4090.

For 1080p, we observed that it was evident that the AMD Ryzen 5 7600x was 44% faster than those running the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x in regards to average FPS.
It was 191 FPS, compared to 197 average FPS for AMD Ryzen 5 5600x. For 1440p Both CPUs were close, with the same frame per second, at 140 FPS.
In the resolution test in 4K, there was no difference between AMD Ryzen 5 7600x and AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, both achieving the same number of frames between 76 and 77 FPS.
The AMD Ryzen 5 7600x reached an average of 129 FPS, compared with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x’s 98 FPS at 1080p. This implies that AMD Ryzen 5 7600x was 25% more efficient in rendering frames than AMD Ryzen 5 5600x.
A cheap basic alternative without any extras on top
Simple and basic design without any additions
Lower quality build with plastic builds
Updated cooling to adapt to the higher power rating
Comes with a GPU support to help with the heavier build and prevent bending
Strong design with a light feature
A bit more of a dated design
For 1440p The AMD Ryzen 5 7600x reached 109 FPS, while the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x reached 95 FPS, which signifies that AMD Ryzen 5 7600x was 13% faster than the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x.
In terms of the benchmark resolution of 4K The AMD Ryzen, 5 7600x and the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x was close at 73 FPS.
Like we said earlier, the 7600X is an impressive CPU. It can work very well with a number of GPUs which fall just below the high-end selection. The RTX 3070, 3070 Ti, and RX 6800 XT are great picks – especially if you’re on a 1440p monitor.
