Can I Run Grounded? System Requirements Revealed

Can I Run Grounded?

With so many modern games demanding more and more from our PCs, checking the system requirements has become a must. Before parting with your cash, you’ll need to know whether your system can handle a new game, and the easiest way to do that is to check out the recommended system requirements.

Grounded has done reasonably well out of the gate, being the latest Microsoft published game on Steam to top the best sellers list:

If you’re thinking of getting Grounded, the first thing you’ll want to do is check your current PC specifications. If you’re not sure how to do that, we’ve got a simple guide that takes you through it. Once you’ve got your specs at hand, all you need to do is roughly compare it to the recommended requirements, which we’ve outlined below.

We’re working on an easier way to do this in the future with our own system requirements tool but we’ll let you know when that’s up and running.

Grounded Game Details

  • Release date: July 28, 2020 on PC (Early Access) and Xbox One
  • System Requirements: Low to medium
  • Genre: Action-adventure
  • Developer: Obsidian Entertainment
  • Publisher: Xbox Game Studios

A new survival RPG from Obsidian Entertainment throws you into a unique, vast and dangerous world. Grounded shrinks you down to the size of an ant and lets you explore a garden full of giant insects. It’s definitely not one for the arachnophobes amongst us.

With this RPG, you’ll need to explore, build, and fight to survive. You can either embark on a co-op survival adventure with up to three friends or brave the garden alone. The world is both immersive and reactive to your decisions so one wrong step could see a horde of giant ants or beetles take you and your team down.

Besides running for your life, you’ll need to build a safe base, collect tools, craft weapons and armor to live in the wild garden around you. As you brave the dangerous environment, you’ll also need to progress through a mysterious story and uncover secrets lurking in the shadows.

Optimal Hardware Suggestions

While this is a new game, it is fortunately not particularly difficult to run. The minimum requirements should be well within the grasp of most gaming PCs.

The minimum requirements should be more than capable of hitting 30 FPS with a 720p resolution with the settings on low to medium. However, if you want a better and smoother gameplay experience, it’s worth aiming for the recommended requirements which should boost the frame rate and allow you to use a 1080p resolution with better graphical settings.

The Steam page didn’t list any recommended requirements so we’ve suggested a GTX 1060 which is considered a mid-market card for most. With 8 GB of RAM, you should be able to run this game plus many more without issue. However, if you want to upgrade your PC to handle more graphically demanding action games, then you may want to go even further and get a more mid to high-end graphics card for your system.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend?

As the system requirements are pretty low for Grounded, you may not need to upgrade your gaming PC unless it’s pretty old. If you are looking to build a brand new gaming PC, then starting with the recommended requirements and surpassing them if you can is a smart move.

Remember, optimizing a build for a game like Grounded is a good start but you may want to play other games in the future that require a bit more power from your PC. In that case, we’d recommend shopping around for a budget or mid-range PC to ensure your PC doesn’t become too outdated too quickly. We’d recommend looking in the $600 to $700 range.

In this price range, you’ll be able to pick up a 6-core processor such as the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 and a solid, affordable GPU like the XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition.
