We might not currently know anything concrete about the MSI Alpha 17 release date but we have had both the specifications and the pricing confirmed at Computex 2023, so read below for all the details.
MSI Alpha 17 specs
The biggest draw of the MSI Alpha 17 is that it comes with the most powerful laptop processor currently available: the top of the Ryzen 7000 series laptop CPUs, the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX. The graphics card options are more mid to mid-high range, specifically the Nvidia RTX 4060 laptop and RTX 4070 laptop GPUs, though both of these are still great gaming performers, particularly with DLSS 3.0 enabled in games that support it.
The laptop comes with a Wi-Fi 7 card, which is good for future proofing, and an upgraded 99.9Whr battery. The body of the laptop is the same as that used in the MSI Vector GP77.
The biggest disappointment is the lack of either FreeSync or G-Sync for the display, which is increasingly uncommon on new laptop releases, however everything else seems pretty damn good value for money to us (see further down this page for the MSRP of the different loadouts).

MSI Alpha 17 release window prediction
There’s been no word from MSI yet on the MSI Alpha 17 release date, however considering the MSI Alpha 15 that came out in 2021 was released in September, we think that some point in September 2023 is a likely bet, which would bring it out just in time for the run up to the Black Friday sales.
