Xbox Series X Logo Trademark Spotted

It appears that Microsoft has recently filed an application to trademark what looks like the Xbox Series X logo. The application for this was initially filled out last week and is currently being reviewed.

What Does This Logo Look Like?

The new logo for the Xbox Series X is a simple and clean looking design that looks to be in the same design style as another logo Microsoft recently announced. The description on the trademark application is as follows: “The mark consists of the word SERIES in a vertical formation to the right of which appears a stylized letter X”.

It doesn’t take too long to see the striking similarities of this logo when you compare it to the one that was revealed during an Xbox Velocity Architecture presentation last month. This detailed the architecture that will be implemented in the Xbox Series X.

This architecture will allow for increased performance capabilities that bring this console into the realm of looking like a high-end gaming PC rather than a console for your living room. A combination of a CPU based on AMD’s latest Zen 2 process, a ray-tracing Radeon GPU, and an impressive SSD that helps to virtually eliminate load times all make this look like an impressive system.

Andrew Goossen of Microsoft has stated that “The Xbox Velocity Architecture is about so much more than fast last times. It’s one of the most innovative parts of our new console. It’s about revolutionizing how games can create vastly bigger, more compelling worlds.”

Is This Logo Likely To Change?

Although we can verify the authenticity of this trademark, it’s often the case that trademark applications can lead to nowhere. We can also see in the trademark application that this covers a wide range of goods and services including bags, watches, keychains, headwear, and of course, video game consoles.

While it may look excessive, having all of these items on a trademark application is completely normal and is simply the company’s way of making sure all their bases are legally covered.

Will We Still See The Xbox Series X This Year?

Even though the world is going through a tough time at the moment, Xbox vice-president Phil Spencer has stated that this next-generation console remains on track for its launch date.

If anything, it could be more likely that next-generation games will suffer from delays due to staffing shortages and illness.

As with most things, we’ll simply have to wait and see. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with any more news concerning the release of these next-gen consoles as and when we hear it.
