In the bundle of announcements from AMD, we find yet another processor coming to the market. Of course, it’s not a new one, or for the newest platform, but one that can offer a lot to those still on AM4. In this case, we look at the AMD Ryzen 7 5700 release date, specs, and price for the consumer market.

Starting off the tech week strong, AMD’s CES event brought with it a whole slew of new tech across the spectrum, with the 8000G series for AM5, 5700X3D for AM4, and even the RX 7600 XT. Now we are also getting more for the older choice of CPU available, which does make sense for those who might be after an upgrade without wanting to spend too much upgrading their whole system, so let’s see what’s on offer.

Ryzen 7 5700 release date

AMD has announced the Ryzen 7 5700 release date for consumers. Since the CPU was already released for AIBs and prebuilt in April 2022 it is now coming to the rest of the market. Doing so on the 31st of January alongside the other 5000 series processors. Allowing you to get a great budget processor at the end of the month.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700 specs

Being based on the AM4 platform, the Ryzen 7 5700 is based on the Zen 3 architecture. It also doesn’t benefit from any of the improvements and the likes of having any integrated graphics. But that makes sense for its placement, sitting between the 5600X and 5700X, although with the benefits of lower pricing as it is a more outdated choice of processor now with the AM5 selection.

The processor sticks with the Ryzen 7 core and thread count and all the support it has to offer. While having a smaller 20MB cache compared to the X and top variants in the SKU. It gets a rather high boost clock though as the overclock gets up to 4.6GHz, not like the X3D CPUs that limit their power to work.

Since it is on the AM4 board, it also only requires DDR4 memory which also enables costs to be lower compared to the likes of DDR5 even as those fall. What is surprising to see is it only supports gen 3 PCIe, meaning if you get a lower-end GPU without full bus length like an RX 6600, you may find a lower performance. That CPU also comes in with a power of 65W.

Since it is a later release, it comes with a great new price. As the CPU is coming out with a suggested retail price of $175. Compared to the other launches like the 5700X that came in at $299 a couple of years ago.
