AMD finally made its move to the new AM5 platform over a year ago now, but that hasn’t stopped it from releasing more processors for its previous generation. Now it’s time for another X3D choice of CPU as we look to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D release date and specs of it.

Ryzen X3D has been a major success across generations, so it’s no surprise we see more of them popping up. Some of the best CPUs feature the AMD technology that boosts its cache and potential. With the likes of the 5800X3D that started it and the 7800X3D carrying it on, the 5700X3D is yet another in the list of strong processors, so let’s see when and what you can expect. You may even consider the best GPU for the Ryzen 7 5700X3D or best RAM for 5700X3D.

When is the Ryzen 7 5700X3D release date?

Now it is no surprise AMD keeps expanding its AM4 lineup, we ourselves still recommend the 5800X3D to those wanting an upgrade on the platform. So if it does have some excess chips to use up, why not keep expanding? Like how it produces the 5600X3D as an exclusive, the 5700X3D becomes available to everyone.

If you are interested in the processor choice, you don’t have to wait too long. The release is coming at the end of the month alongside the Ryzen 8000G series and RX 7600 XT releases on the 31st of January. That gives a whole range of options for those looking for an update or new budget pick of product.

Ryzen 5 5700X3D specs

When it comes to what the CPU has to offer, it does improve on the 5700 base model while coming down in price over the 5800X3D flagship 3D option. It comes with the following:

  • 8 cores/ 16 threads
  • 4.1GHz max boost
  • 100MB cache
  • 105W TDP
  • $249 SEP

This does boost the cache and power over the base 5700X model. Over 40W more is required to power all the extra cache in the processor even when it doesn’t run as fast, which is to allow it to run and not damage the more unique cache solution. It also cuts down on the price to further make it a more appealing pick-up especially those already on the platform.

Why is AMD still releasing AM4 CPUs?

AMD is still supporting the AM4 platform because it has such a long lifespan and adoption that it still most likely gets plenty of sales. There are many early adopters that are running the likes of Ryzen 1000 or 3000 CPUs that are chugging along. But with such a long line of support, it means those people can opt for an upgrade of just one part instead of a whole system. It is a massive boost jumping from one to the other and saves many people money and effort in doing so.

Also if they have extra resources, why not turn them into something useful? With the 5800X3D still going, the slightly failed dies can be repurposed and used instead of being thrown away and being wasteful.
