Everything MSI Have Announced At CES 2020

CES 2020 has brought us some amazing new tech innovations and products from all our favourite brands. One of the brands we were really looking forward to seeing there was MSI – especially when we heard they had won an award for their new PC.

MSI GS66 Gaming Laptops

First up, we got two new versions of their popular Raider and Stealth laptops. You can really see how the Raider has been designed with gamers in mind. The RGB strip along the bottom really makes this stand out and feel like a premium gaming laptop. The Stealth, on the other hand, has been designed not to look like your traditional gaming laptop – ideal for those who also plan on using their laptop for anything outside of gaming.

Both laptops come with an impressive 300Hz refresh rate, meaning you’re going to get buttery-smooth graphics across different titles.

We don’t yet have release dates or price points just yet, but we’ll be sure to update you when we do.

MSI X570 Motherboards

MSI also brought some new motherboards to CES, most notably the MAG X570 Tomahawk WIFI. Designed for third-gen Ryzen chips, it comes with an advanced thermal solution, as well as PWM IC digital design with exclusive MSI Core Boost technology. Let’s break down the specs:

  • 12+2+1 phase VRM design (CPU/ Memory)
  • AM4 socket powered by 8+4 pin connector configuration
  • 24-pin ATX connector
  • 4 x DDR4 DIMM slots (supporting speeds beyond 4600 MHz)
  • up to 128GB DRAM capacity
  • 2 x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots
  • 2 x PCIe 4.0 x1 slots
  • dual M.2 slots
  • M.2 heatsinks
  • 6 x SATA III ports
  • USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports

MSI Optix MEG341CQR Gaming Monitor

MSI’s latest gaming monitor is simply stunning. We had the chance to get hands on with this at CES and now we’re angling to kit out the office with some new gear that’s for sure. This 38″ curved monitor even claimed a double honor in both the Computer Peripheral and Accessories division, as well as in the Smart Home category.

This ultra wide screen IPS panel display has a 3840×1600 resolution and is packed with some cool smart features too. It houses a second mini display in the bottom left hand corner that can display vital information about how your system is running, as well as control your RGB lighting and custom keycaps.

No word on an official release date or price point yet though.

MEG AEGIS Ti5

Another award winning product for MSI at this year’s CES was their new MEG AEGIS Ti5. This gaming PC impressed us from the get-go, although the design was a bit polarising. This mammoth PC comes with a spin wheel LCD screen that allows you to access important stats about your PC’s performance as well as select and open your favourite games with just a few clicks.

The specs for this haven’t been finalised according to MSI but we can expect to see the latest Intel Core i9 CPU, Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, and 128GB of RAM. MSI are also describing it as the world’s first 5G-compatible desktop PC, getting in on the 5G trend we’ve seen everywhere this year.

The design has been likened to both Wall-E and a robotic head, so it’s easy to see how this won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. The bulky case will look amazing as part of a high-sci-fi setup, but for most of us it might end up being a bit of an eyesore.
