With the new indie title, Othercide, the good news is that the system requirements don’t look to be particularly high. Unless your PC is a good few years old, you will probably be fine running this on high settings.

But, just to be sure, we’ve listed the system requirements below – both minimum and recommended – for you to take a look at first. We’ve also included some hardware advice and recommended hardware if you feel the need to update your PC.

First of all, you’ll need to check your current PC specifications. If you’re not sure how to do this, we’ve got a handy guide to help you out. All you need to do is compare your specifications with the recommended requirements below.

No doubt what grabbed your attention with this game was the fantastically stylized aesthetic. The initial trailers were minimalist, creepy and fascinating all rolled into one which makes it perfect for horror fans and turn-based strategy game lovers.

The premise is that you take command of The Daughters. These are an army of descendants from the greatest warrior that ever lived. You can control either the Bladesmaster, Shieldbearer or Soulslinger who together provide humanity’s last hope against the monsters. Your combat skills, abilities and strategy will decide the fate of the world.

This game features a turn-based strategy style with a dynamic timeline system that makes for some intriguing gameplay mechanics. The timeline system allows you to plan ahead of time and carefully set up your combat strategies to outsmart your enemies.

Optimal Hardware Suggestions

With this being a fairly easy game to run on modern PCs, you should be able to meet the recommended requirements without too much trouble. If you can only meet the minimum requirements though, this should still be enough to hit 30 FPS, but that’s with the settings turned down low.

To take advantage of the great visuals this game has to offer, we’d definitely recommend going above and beyond even the recommended requirements if you’re looking to upgrade your PC. That way, you’ve got more flexibility to run other, more demanding games on your PC.

What Gaming PC Do We Recommend?

If you’re mostly playing games like this, you won’t need an overly powerful machine. Many turn-based strategy games like these are not particularly demanding. However, if you are also looking to play other more demanding turn-based games, you’ll want a PC that can keep up with those without issue too.

We’d recommend going for a budget to mid-range PC if you like playing different genres beyond strategy games. A system in the $600 range will have everything you need to run this game. This build gives you an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core processor and an XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition GPU which should be more than enough to get started.

Of course, if you’re looking to upgrade your PC to play much more than this type of game, you may want to look at more mid-range PC builds in the $700 to $800 range.
