More PS5 Information On The Horizon With Latest Site Update

Sony has been incredibly stingy so far with information and updates about their upcoming next-gen Playstation 5 console. And, rightly so, fans are always clamoring for even the tiniest hint of new info – myself included.

Well, thanks to a recent website update, we have a bit more information and the possibility of some real news on the horizon.

The last update Sony graced us with was a dry Powerpoint presentation talking through the architecture of the console – a stream that left many wanting more. We also got a glimpse at the updated Dualshock controller and a less than groundbreaking logo design.

But, eagle-eyed fans spotted a recent update on the Playstation 5 website that may hint at some new information. Sure, it’s not groundbreaking news, but it’s better than nothing, right? Here’s what the website said:

Lightning speed

Harness the power of a custom CPU, GPU, and SSD with Integrated I/O that rewrite the rules of what a PlayStation console can do.

Stunning games

Marvel at incredible graphics and experience new PS5 features.

Breathtaking immersion

Discover a deeper gaming experience with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio technology.”

Nothing we didn’t already know really. But, by adding more information to the website, many are thinking this means we’re due some more substantial details soon. With the State of Play event tonight being focused solely around The Last Of Us Part II, we know we’ll still have to wait a little while before getting any solid information from the team at Sony.

There have been a few rumors flying about from some fairly reliable sources that there will be two big PS5 events in the near future – one in early June and another in August. If these sources are correct, then the June update should provide us with our first real look at the new console.

As always, we have to take all this speculation with a pinch of salt. Updating a website could just be a refresh of the content, or it could be a sign of something more. Only time will tell which case this is – but we know what we’re hoping for.
