RTX 4090 rumored to launch in October, RTX 4080 in November
Some potential news on the release date, and they may be ahead of schedule

There have been some rumors about the release date of the new RTX 4000 cards. The Chiphell forum senior editor nApoleon suggests the cards are actually ahead of schedule.
With the user reporting the card will in fact be announced on the 20th of September during the GTC conference. Likely hinted at with the Project Beyond branding.
Although it will be announced then it won’t be available until October. Along with that, Wccftech talks of the RTX 4080 coming out a month after that in November.
This does potentially show Nvidia producing ahead of schedule. As with all the current delays, it was thought that only the 4090 would come out this year whilst the rest could come out early next year.
They also suggest the RTX 4070 will in fact launch in December 2022. Whilst the RTX 4060 will unveil in January CES 2023.
RTX 4080 versions
The rumors also point to two different versions of the RTX 4080. It is suggested it will launch with a 16GB and 12GB model. Which in turn will have a TGP of 340W and 285W respectively.
With such a difference it does suggest a bigger difference in specs. Such as the difference between the 3080 10GB and 12GB variants.
Wccftech also reports that the 16GB option will feature a 12-layer PCB. Whilst the 12GB variant is a 10-layer PCB instead whilst both will utilize the GDDR6X.
Supposedly Nvidia will only have a reference design for the 16GB variant. With an AIC only for the 12GB.
Recently we have only seen leaks on the RTX 4090 with Gigabyte listing at retailers and Gigabyte EEC filings show only the flagship. So it is a bit relieving to see some other possibly more affordable options.
And if you’re looking for an alternative to that, AMD RDNA 3 is meant to come out between October and November. So along with AM5, there is a lot of new hardware releasing soon to give us some new toys to play with.
