AMD FSR is AMD’s own upscaling technology, which got the first look at on 22nd June 2021 when Videocardz has published a leak of a list of games, but which has now been officially released on a whole host of games. As of 15th July, AMD FSR expanded to include the Unity engine, the Unreal Engine, and GPUOpen platform – meaning that we can expect the current list of games to expand dramatically in the future.
At this stage, the list of titles that support AMD FSR is not that large, but it is catching up to the list of games that support DLSS. The list of publishers that have pledged to support the technology is impressive, and bodes well for future support of the technology across a lot of the industry. Read below to see the full list!
What Is AMD FSR?
AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (aka AMD FSR) is an upscaling technology from the red team i.e. a technology that takes lower resolution images and convincingly converts them into a higher resolution one.
AMD FSR vs Nvidia DLSS
DLSS is Nvidia’s version of the technology, which remains the market leader, that uses Artificial Intelligence and Vector Support to upscale the resolution to a higher standard that is possible in more basic techniques. In gaming it essentially it cuts corners in the rendering process which means you can play at 4K resolution without taking such a big hit to FPS in gameplay.
AMD’s version of upscaling is somewhat different – FSR does not use deep learning / AI like DLSS does, nor vector support, and is certainly not going to be as powerful or effective as DLSS is; however unlike Nvidia, AMD are not limiting the technology to just their own products, and FSR will eventually be made available for Nvidia GPUs as well, once it is correctly optimized (expect this to come later though).
Ultimately AMD might have made a tactical error in describing FSR as a competitor to DLSS, given its a less advanced technology that will inevitably underperform by comparison.
Which Games Will Support FSR?
AMD FSR is currently supported by the following titles:
- 22 Racing Series

Which Developers Are Supporting AMD FSR?
