2023 means the release of Apple’s tvOS 17 is on its way – but what about the tvOS 17 beta release date? Beta versions of the operating system have already arrived, much sooner than the full release of tvOS 17 later on in September this year. However, accessing these betas isn’t always immediately possible for everyone – more on that later.

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC for short, took place from June 5th to June 9th and saw the announcement of some new interesting Apple products – especially the Vision Pro. However, WWDC is also home to tons of reveals about Apple’s latest operating system line-up, tvOS 17 included. We also saw the likes of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, and watchOS 10 too. Lots to look forward to in terms of Apple software.

Apple tvOS 17 beta 10 release date prediction

So when is the next tvOS 17 beta? By taking a look at recent history, we can see that the newest beta version generally arrives around a couple of weeks following the previous, though this has since switched to a weekly update during August. For Apple tvOS 17 beta 10, this would put the expected release date around mid September. We expect to see the weekly schedule continue up until the full public release. Based on the release dates in the past, we expect to see the next beta arrive on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

With that in mind, we predict beta 10 to release on September 12th, or just a day later at the latest. However, there is a strong possibility that beta 9 is the final version, before we move on to the release candidate and full release. Especially now that Apple are holding their latest event on the same day as our prediction, September 12th, and look to usher in the fresh wave of operating systems.

Apple tvOS 17 beta 9 release date – out now

September 5th marks the release of tvOS 17 beta 9, just as we predicted. Apple posted the release notes on their site as always, showing plenty of bug fixes since the first beta, which of course include a massive change list to bring in all the early tvOS 17 features. These incremental beta versions serve as a period for fixing and adjusting any bugs and features introduced in the first beta.

Plenty of fixes are continuously being worked on across the board, between Continuity Camera, FaceTime, and developer tools such as StoreKit and SwiftUI. The beta currently has access to brand new features such as the FaceTime integration with Center Stage, Apple TV Split View, and support for Dolby Vision 8.1. However, we still are awaiting the previously mentioned ‘Find My Remote’ feature which helps you track down a Siri Remote with your iPhone.
