The S95B has a multitude of amazing features, and the inclusion of VRR, or Variable Refresh Rate, is just one of them. VRR is a technology that helps you not get those pesky frame drops in a fast-moving action. It does this by syncing the refresh rate of the television with the framerate of the content, resulting in a way more fluid and better image.

What is S95B VRR?

To understand how VRR works, it’s important to first understand refresh rates. A refresh rate is the number of times per second that a television screen updates the image it is displaying. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother the motion will appear, but this also increases the likelihood of screen tearing and stuttering. VRR combats these issues by dynamically adjusting the refresh rate of the screen to match the framerate of whatever is being displayed on it. This ensures that the image is always being produced at the highest possible quality, with minimal difficulties.

One of the benefits of VRR is that it insurmountably adds to the overall action-rich content quality, such as video games and sports broadcasts. The smoother and more fluid image makes it easier to follow the action and minimizes the likelihood of discomfort or eye strain. Furthermore, VRR helps to improve the overall picture quality of the television, as it eliminates distracting visual artifacts listed above.

Another advantage of VRR is that it helps to reduce input lag. For those who don’t know, it’s the time it takes for a TV to display what’s happening on the screen after it has received the signal from a device such as a gaming console or a Blu-Ray player. It’s crucial for gamers, as it can mean the difference between a win and a loss in reflex-based games. With VRR, the TV is able to display the image much more quickly, resulting in the most possible responsive gaming performance.

What is Samsung S95B VRR useful for?

The VRR (variable refresh rate) of the Samsung S95B is useful for a bunch of different reasons. Overall, VRR allows the user to have more control over the refresh rate – that’s the point of it after all. Even though the TV has a max refresh rate of 120Hz, you may choose to lower it (either automatically or manually) in order to be more suited to the media you’re consuming.

While gaming, for example, locking your refresh rate to 60Hz may be useful if the game itself is locked at 60fps, this will help reduce any unwanted stuttering or screen tearing. This could also come in handy if you want a more cinematic feel for watching films.
