What are the CPU requirements for Marvel’s Midnight Suns?
The developer-recommended CPUs for Midnight Suns are the AMD Ryzen 5-2600X and the Intel Core i7-6700.
The Ryzen 5 2600X is an AMD 2nd generation 6-core 12-thread processor with a maximum clock speed of 4.2GHz. The Intel Core i7-6700, on the other hand, is an older i7 processor with 4 cores and 8 threads, running at a maximum clock speed of 4GHz.
Either of these two processors (or their equivalents) will be adequate if all you’re looking for is a 1080p, 60FPS experience, given that you pair them up with an appropriately powerful graphics card.
However, 1080p 60FPS isn’t the best way one can experience a game. Running games at a higher resolution, maxed-out visual settings, and high framerates can offer you a much more enjoyable and immersive gaming experience. You do need to have stronger hardware, though.
With that in mind, let’s find out what the best CPU for Marvel’s Midnight Suns is.
Best CPU for Marvel’s Midnight Suns – Ryzen 5 7600
The CPU we’re going with is the Ryzen 5 7600. This is a recently released Zen 4 processor that features massive upgrades over its predecessors: the R5 5600 and 3600.
Like the dev-recommended Ryzen 5 2600X, the R5 7600 is a 6-core, 12-thread processor, which remains a more gaming-oriented CPU configuration in 2024.

Modern games run perfectly on 12 threads. More can certainly be nice for other multicore-heavy, productivity-focused activities, but don’t yield noticeable benefits in gaming alone.
The CPU also has an impressive 5.1GHz maximum clock speed, which gives it excellent single-threaded performance.
In fact, it isn’t too far behind the new Ryzen 7 and 9 processors if we’re only going by single-threaded performance, but it costs a whole lot less.
If you aren’t sure why that’s important for gaming – PC games (including those such as Midnight Suns) carry out most of their processing on only a few processor threads.
That’s why it’s important for these few threads to deliver plenty of power, and we measure their ability to do that with single-threaded performance.
So, in essence, the R5 7600’s 5.1GHz clock speed and 12 threads are perfect for gaming and will show you great results in Midnight Suns. The processor also has a healthy 32MBs of L3 cache to boot.
How does the Ryzen 5 7600 differ from the Ryzen 5 7600X?
The 7600X is a slightly improved version of the 7600 available for around the same price right now (although that’s likely to change in the future as prices for both CPUs deviate from their MSRP).
But – and especially for Marvel’s Midnight Suns – it makes more sense to stick with the 7600.
The performance gain offered by the 7600X is minimal – so much so that you won’t really notice the difference in-game.
The 7600X does, however, consume a lot more power and requires you to have a decent aftermarket cooling solution since it doesn’t come with a stock cooler out of the box. The 7600 has excellent energy efficiency and comes with a good-enough stock cooler.
