What are 13 inch laptop dimensions? Well the chassis of laptops with 13-inch screens can vary hugely, so there isn’t really an answer to give if you’re looking for that, but the range of dimensions for 13-inch displays is much narrower.
To an extent, even the dimensions of 13-inch laptop screens can vary, depending on the aspect ratio certainly, but also even between different models that have the same aspect ratio. 13 inch laptops are usually actually 13.3-inches, though you do get exceptions that can be 13.1″ or 13.0″. Obviously, the dimensions of the devices will vary depending on the exact measurement.

How do you measure a 13 inch laptop screen’s dimensions?
The quoted value for a screen’s size is invariably given in inches and it is always its diagonal measurement. You measure from the top-left corner to the bottom right (or visa versa). You measure the actual display (the bit that shows an image) and not the bezel surrounding it. To get the width and the height of the screen you again must only measure the display itself, and not the surrounding bezels.
Note that a laptop could be a bit taller than a competing model, but a bit narrower, and the diagonal length could still end up being exactly 13.3″.
4:3 screen 13.3 inch laptop dimensions (standard)
It’s rare to find many 4:3 aspect ratio screens on laptops these days, but they do occasionally pop up in machines designed for office use or coding.
The standard 4:3 13.3-inch laptop dimensions are as follows, though note that these can vary somewhat (the screen could measure a bit wider, but be a bit shorter or visa versa):
- Width: 10.64 inches / 27.03 cm
- Height: 7.98 inches / 20.27 cm
- Area: 84.91 inches² / 547.79 cm²
16:9 screen 13.3 inch laptop dimensions (standard)
16:9 aspect ratio laptop screens used to be the gaming laptop standard are still the most common by far.
The standard 16:9 13.3-inch laptop dimensions are as follows, though again, these can vary a bit in reality (the display could be a bit wider, but a bit shorter, and measure the same diagonally):
- Width: 11.59 inches / 29.44 cm
- Height: 6.52 inches / 16.56 cm
- Area: 75.59 inches² / 487.64 cm²
16:10 screen 13.3 inch laptop dimensions (standard)
16:10 aspect ratio laptops are increasingly common, giving the user more vertical space, making them better for reading documents and web pages, but are also becoming the new gaming laptop standard.
- Width: 11.28 inches / 28.65 cm
- Height: 7.05 inches / 17.90 cm
- Area: 79.50 inches² / 512.91 cm²
