Gigabyte Unveils Z890 Motherboards for Next-Gen Intel Arrow Lake CPUs

Gigabyte announced its next-gen Z890 motherboards, which are set to offer insane performance, AI integration, the latest connectivity features, a whole new AI-driven lineup, and a lot more.
Gigabyte recently unveiled its Z890 motherboard lineup, featuring 17 models across various series. These revolutionary boards come with upgrades not seen on an Intel motherboard before, including support for 9500 MT/s memory speeds, next-gen overclocking technology, and the first Thunderbolt 5 ports on a desktop motherboard. This reveal also includes the new AI TOP series which adds three different boards. Here are the names for the entire Gigabyte Z890 motherboard lineup.

Gigabyte introduces new AI TOP series with its upcoming Z890 motherboards
The latest addition to the lineup is the new AI TOP series which brings three new motherboards to the Z890 platform. These include the flagship Z890 AORUS XTREME AI TOP, Z890 AORUS MASTER AI TOP, and Z890 AI TOP, which combines the best of both Gigabyte’s AORUS and AI TOP series. All three of these boards will support dual graphics cards, up to dual 10GbE LAN, and dual Thunderbolt 5 along with Gigabyte’s exclusive AI TOP Utility. This is also the first time we are seeing Thunderbolt 5 on a desktop motherboard, delivering transfer speeds of up to 80 Gbps.
The new Z890 lineup will feature insane memory speeds of up to 9500 MT/s
Gigabyte has also said that the entire Z890 lineup is equipped with D5 Bionic Corsa technology that allows it to achieve new peaks in memory performance, offering RAM speeds up to 9500 MT/s with Intel XMP. According to Gigabyte, four new technologies; AORUS AI SNATCH, AI SNATCH Engine, AI-driven PCB Design, and HyperTune BIOS help these motherboards achieve higher clock speeds. The AI TOP motherboards also feature a DDR Wind Blade and a vented back panel that work together to lower memory temperatures by up to 10C.
The AORUS AI SNATCH and AI SNATCH Engine present AI-overclocking for ultimate performance, while AI-Driven PCB Design and HyperTune BIOS deliver AI-design for signal enhancement on motherboards. The AORUS AI SNATCH is an auto-overclocking software by AI model, and enables users to unleash utmost performance with one-click activation.
The AI-Driven PCB Technology employs AI algorithms to optimize vias, routing and stackups, while the Hypertune BIOS uses AI to optimize MRC and adapt to signals for peak efficiency, significant memory clock boost, and enhanced overall performance.
Gigabyte has also addressed cooling issues due to Intel Core Ultra’s hotspot shift by introducing a VRM Thermal Balance mechanism. This mechanism includes a heatpipe design that balances temperature across both sides of the VRM, improving heat conduction by up to 4C. This will allow you to overclock your CPU without having to worry about keeping your CPU cool.
Gigabyte Z890 motherboards to come with upgraded UC BIOS features
Gigabyte Z890 motherboards will also come with upgraded UC BIOS features that will offer a more intuitive interface and advanced tuning options. The Multi-theme design allows users to customize their BIOS with one simple click and a new greyscale option for an immersive user experience. Alongside the standard Intel Baseline, Performance, and Extreme profiles, the BIOS also includes three additional modes: Spec Enhance, Optimization, and Unleash, the latter providing up to an 11% performance boost.
For overclockers, the Z890 motherboards will have up to 25 power phases on the AI TOP series and up to 21 power phases on the rest of the models. Additionally, Gigabyte’s exclusive NPU Overdrive feature in the BIOS enhances Intel’s latest processors, increasing AI performance by 23% in real-world tests.
Assembling components becomes simpler with new DIY-friendly designs
GIGABYTE Z890 motherboards also introduce DIY-friendly features to simplify the build process. With tool-free antenna connections, EZ-latch systems for M.2 SSDs, and PCIe EZ-latch plus, these designs eliminate screw-in installations, making setup easier for all users. According to the press release the new Gigabyte Z890 motherboards will be available to end consumers by the end of October.
