Apple revealed a great deal about iOS 17 during its WWDC including Live Voicemail that allows you to ignore those unwanted calls and get a full transcript of what was said, send new animated stickers, name drop, and more. But has your phone made the cut? Is your phone compatible with iOS 17?

Apple iOS 17 – is your iPhone ready?

Apple recently announced and previewed iOS 17, the latest software update for iPhones, during its WWDC event. This major update will be released in the fall, but not all iPhone models will be able to install it. Like previous major software updates from Apple, some iPhones, such as the iPhone X, will not be compatible with iOS 17.

If you’re unsure about which iPhone model you have, you can easily check it in your settings. Just open the Settings app, tap on General, then choose About. Next to Model Name, you’ll find the information about your iPhone model.

We can help you determine if your iPhone is compatible with iOS 17. If you’re interested in trying out the iOS 17 beta version, the public beta will be available in July.

Has your iPhone made the cut?

Here’s a list of devices compatible with iOS 17:

  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 Mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 Mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE (second generation and later)
  • iPhone 14
  • iPhone 14 Plus
  • iPhone 14 Pro
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max

What happens if your phone is not on the list?

If your iPhone is not mentioned in the list above, it means it won’t work with iOS 17. You won’t receive a notification to download the latest software. For example, if you have an iPhone X or an older model, the highest software version you can have is iOS 16.

So if you really want to upgrade to iOS 17, then you might have to pick up a new phone to do it.
