For another glimpse into the RDNA 3 lineup, we look at what the AMD Radeon RX 7800 has to offer. With the latest rumors around the specifications, release window, and price. The card is supposed to follow the success and popularity of the RX 6800. The RX 6000 series provides a good alternative as your next best graphics card.

Not part of the initial RX 7000 announcement, we look toward leaks and rumors. Rounding up what it has to say on the upcoming generation of cards. Radeon cards do seem to promise an improvement over the previous generation. As well as improving over Nvidia’s offering to provide some strong competition.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 specs rumors

Moving away from the flagship card there are even fewer specs offered to learn about the cards. So there is likely still a lot to change leading up to the announcement of the range. However, there are still some parts that can be extrapolated and inferred about the GPU.

So with that, we may expect to see the RX 7800 feature a Navi 31/32 chip in it. It will be built upon TSMCs 5 and 6nm process if it does feature an MCM design. As it’s unlikely AMD will utilize the multi-chip design across the whole series. With the lower cards possibly still on a monolithic chip.

The RDNA 3 graphics will potentially feature 96 compute units with 9,216 stream processors. Along with 20GB GDDR6 memory across a 320-bit bus. With a 256MB infinity cache offering much-improved capacity and speeds like we expect to see across the board.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 release window prediction

Now with three different GPUs available in the lineup, there is still no real information on when to expect the mid-tier graphics card. With the top tier satisfied with RX 7900 XTX and XT, and the low tier with the RX 7600, something in that performance level is needed. As that is the more satisfactory combination of price and performance.

The latest rumor is for a Navi 32 GPU processor, this isn’t anything confirmed and it might be an RX 7800 or XT variant. It does suggest that the new GPU is expected to come out in September 2023 at some point, after an announcement at Gamescom at the end of August. Although this may still change but does give us some hope for AMD to fill out its selection as Nvidia has had some advantage there.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 price speculation

For the next generation of card launches, we look to previous ones to see what to expect for the upcoming prices. The RX 6800 came out with an MSRP of $579. Whilst that may be the bottom expected price for the next model it is unlikely to stay that low. With cost increases and inflation, we expect an increase in them. Therefore we expect to see the RX 7800 cost in the range of $500-$600 USD.

RX 7800 FAQs

How much is RX 7800?

We speculate the RX 7800 to cost in the range of $500-600 USD. Without any rumors and the possibility of last-minute changes, there isn’t much to go off. So we look back to previous generations and expect an extra on top.

What is the RX 7800 equivalent to?

If the same trends follow as before the RX 7800 will be equivalent to the RTX 4070. They will likely be in the same launch lineup although the specifications and benchmarks might not quite reach the same heights.
