Every game has two sets of system requirements that releases on PC, we have the minimum and the recommended. Often times these system requirements can be inaccurate or none specific, but we aim to bring full clarity as to which CPU is best for Forspoken.

Best CPU for Forspoken: Top picks

Before we dive into it, let’s check out the Forspoken system requirements.

Forspoken system requirements

Like many games released on PC, there are two sets of system requirements. These are minimum and recommended system requirements. Each aims to achieve a different thing.

Here are the system requirements for Forspoken

Minimum system requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit (after November 2019 update) or Windows 11 64-bit
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (3.7 GHz or better) or Intel Core i7-3770 (3.7 GHz or better)
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB VRAM
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 150 GB available space

Recommended system requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit (after November 2019 update) or Windows 11 64-bit
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.7 GHz or better) or Inter Core i7-8700K (3.7 GHz or better)
  • Memory: 24 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB VRAM
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 150 GB SSD available space

What is the difference between the minimum and recommended system requirements?

Minimum system requirements are the lowest specifications a computer must have in order to run a particular software or game. These requirements are often set by the developer to ensure that the software or game will run at a basic level on a wide range of computers.

Recommended system requirements, on the other hand, are the specifications that the developer suggests for the best performance and experience. These requirements are often set to ensure that the software or game will run at optimal settings and with high-quality graphics on a specific type of computer.

What is the best CPU for Forspoken?

Well, by the developer’s own reckoning, the Ryzen 5 3600 is the best CPU for Forspoken. But we can do better than that.

The best CPU for Forspoken all depends on what components you have in your PC already. If you have a top-of-the-line GPU, you’re not going to pair it with a mere Ryzen 5 3600. You want to avoid creating a CPU bottleneck in the system you already have.

Core i9-13900K

For 13th-gen Intel, we’re recommending the 13900K for Forspoken

Boost speed

P-cores 5.8 GHz / E-cores 4.3 GHz

TDP

125 W / 253 W boost.

The i9-13900K is a highly powerful CPU that outperforms its competition. Its 24 cores and 32 threads excel in both single and multi-core workloads, making it the top performer in multi-threaded performance for the first time in a long time.

The 13900K has a high TDP of 125 W base and 253 W boost, which is a significant increase compared to the previous generation’s Alder Lake CPUs. But this increase in TDP also brings a significant jump in performance.

The 13th-generation Raptor Lake CPUs see improved single-core performance of up to 15% and multi-core performance of up to 41%. Additionally, you don’t need to upgrade your motherboard to access all this performance, but upgrading has its benefits.

The L2 CPU cache has been doubled this time, providing the CPU with faster and larger storage. This allows the CPU to keep processing instructions quickly without any slowdowns. The 13900K is incredibly fast, with a boot core speed of up to 5.8 GHz, which is the fastest core speed on the market at the time of writing.

However, this high performance does come with a downside. The 13900K runs very hotly under intense stress. Although it’s unlikely to reach the levels of usage and stress that were experienced in testing, the 13900K was found to throttle up to 13% with the use of a 360mm AIO.

Ryzen 9 7900X

For AM5, we’re recommending the Ryzen 9 7900X for Forspoken.

AM5

The 7900X is part of the new Zen 4 architecture, which has brought the performance to a new level on the AM5 platform. The 7000 series is now up-to-date with the AM5 socket providing support for both DDR5 and PCIe Gen 5.

The 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 7900X boasts impressive performance with its massive 5.6 GHz boost clock speed, excelling in both multi-core and single-core tasks. AMD has significantly increased performance with this release and is optimistic that it will be able to compete with Intel.

Cache has also been increased, now 1MB per core compared to 512KB in the previous generation, which leads to less instruction buffering and a reduction in slowdowns caused by a backlog of instructions.

The 7900X has a TDP of 170 W at base core speed and 230 W at boost speed. Unfortunately, this also means that the CPU runs much hotter than desired, similar to the 13900K. It appears that CPU cooler technology is struggling to keep up with the power of the new generation of CPUs.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D

For AM4 we’re going to recommend the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for Forspoken.

L3 Cache

96MB (64MB 3D V-cache)

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a marvel in CPU engineering, the 5800X3D has claimed the top ‘best gaming CPU’ from Intel and their core i9 12900K of the last generation, but there are a couple of reasons it’s not top of our list today.

The 5800X3D is an excellent choice for gaming, donning eight multithreaded CPU cores and a massive 96MB of brand-new AMD 3D V-cache, which is an unhead-of amount of cache for a CPU, not even the next-gen flagships have as much as this CPU.

3D V-Cache is where this CPU differed from literally every CPU in the world right now, (before the release of Zen 43D) as it’s the only one to make use of it.

The 3D cache is not stacked laterally like a normal 2D cache but vertically (thanks to new 3D printing technology) – hence the term 3D cache. This drastically increases the number of chiplets you can cram into an area of any given size. The vertical stacking allows AMD to achieve the massive 96MB L3 cache with a total access speed of 2TB/s in its 5800X3D CPUs.

Best CPU for Forspoken: Final word

No matter what CPU you choose here, you’ll always be in good hands. These are the absolute best CPUs you can choose per platform to play Forspoken. You can absolutely drop a little and conserve some of your budgets by getting a lesser CPU and be just fine. But you asked for the best, this is the best.
