A good display is absolutely essential for PC users. Whether you’re gaming, streaming or working, having a clear, bright and responsive screen makes whatever you’re doing a more immersive experience. But when it comes to picking brands out to find a new display, the choices can be overwhelming. At WePC, we’ve done some serious homework on the subject, and one particular company comes up time and time again – ASUS.

ASUS is a brand renowned for their innovative, high-quality technology, and their monitors and displays are a great example. They offer a fantastic range of PC monitors, projectors and more to suit all needs and budgets. Whether you’re looking for a ultra-fast gaming monitor, a specialised monitor for creative professionals, or a projector to take your home cinema system to the next level, ASUS are our first choice for cutting edge displays. We’ve rounded up some of our favourites below.

Republic of Gamers (ROG)

Republic of Gamers, or ROG, is ASUS’s specialist gaming tech range. They have some seriously high end monitors fine-tuned for competitive gaming, with incredibly fast response times and refresh rates which ensure a smooth performance. If you’re looking for an upgrade to your gaming setup, and want a display which packs a speedy punch with beautiful, richly coloured visuals to boot, the series is a good place to look. One of our top choices is the ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ. It boasts a huge 47.5” screen, which comes with anti-glare coating, is perfect for immersive gaming. The monitor features 4K, OLED technology designed to maximise brightness and depth of colour in addition to optimised speed of gameplay. This is further ensured by a 138Hz overclocked refresh rate and an impressive 0.1ms response time. Incredible picture quality is guaranteed, making it a great option for detailed, narrative games. If 48” of monitor is a little too big for your desk setup, the PG27AQDM is a much better OLED alternative, offering 240Hz refresh rates and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility. This makes it a great esports monitor but versatile enough to be used as your daily driver.

We also love the ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQN. At 27”, it’s smaller than the PG48UQ, but comes with a lightning fast 360Hz refresh rate, making it one of the best choices we’ve seen for professional gamers. Powered by NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology, this is one of the fastest 1440p monitors on the market. Furthermore, it is especially well-suited to esports, with the dual-mode feature enabling the monitor to resize in-game visuals to the more familiar 25-inch diagonal at 1080p, which still offers up to 2368 x 1332 resolution.

TUF Gaming

For keen gamers on a budget, the TUF range from ASUS is the ideal place to nab that quality display upgrade at a cheaper price. The gaming monitors available in this series offer amazing value for money, with quick response times and quality visuals guaranteed. Plus, they tend to lean towards a more industrial aesthetic, which is great if you like a more pared back look to your tech. One of the top TUF products, in our opinion, is the VG328QA1A Gaming Monitor.  We were blown away by the full 32” HD screen and 170Hz refresh rate, which is incredible given the relatively low price. Plus, the ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur technology further boosts the smoothness of your gaming experience when using the monitor, and the Shadow boost feature means scenes are brightened without being over exposed. The amount of effort put into the tech behind this display is truly impressive – ASUS, we salute you.

If you want an alternative, the VG32UQA1A Gaming Monitor offers another 32” display but with a 4K resolution. Although it comes with slightly lower 160 Hz refresh rate, it features similar technology to the VG328QA1A, albeit with a more impressive set of visuals thanks to the more high-end resolution.

ProArt

However, it’s not just gamers that ASUS cater for. We love their ProArt range, which is designed specifically for creatives and art professionals. There are some seriously premium products on offer here, including the breathtaking ProArt Display PA32UCX. This is a super-bright 32” mini LED display with a 4K HDR resolution, and it comes with all the specs you’d expect from a high-end professional monitor. Colour performance is optimised by top-of-the-range ASUS ProArt Hardware Calibration technology, further boosted by Quantum-dot technology which immerses the user in gorgeous 10 bit colour. This is complimented 1200 nits of brightness, making it a no-brainer if you need a display for video editing.

If you’re more focused on animation or game design, we’d point towards the ProArt Display PA348CGV. This monitor boasts a 32” QHD display, with an incredibly high Delta E < 2 colour accuracy and an ultra wide viewing angle which makes for a generally more efficient working experience. Furthermore, the 120 Hz refresh rate makes designing any kind of animation or game very straightforward, and means you can switch between building and testing out your creations with ease.

For creators working in the Apple ecosystem, one of the best monitors for Apple laptops and computers is the PA279CRV. With a glorious 4K panel and 99% DCI-P3 accuracy, this monitor is great for creative professionals looking for clarity and colour accuracy for design and print projects. With a slim, ergonomic design, this blends perfectly in with your existing Apple setup making it a great choice for any creators looking to extend their displays.

Projectors

Finally, we want to shout out ASUS’s range of projectors, which offer a great alternative to monitors when it comes to streaming and gaming displays. Although they make a fantastic addition to home entertainment set-ups, projectors are also a good option for the workplace. Try them for big presentations or product launches.

If you need to take a projector with you when travelling, the ZenBeam Latte L1 is a safe bet. It offers a 300 LED lumens output and impressive 720p native resolution, and projects either a 40” or 120” image, all from a little piece of kit the size of a coffee mug. Inbuilt 10W Bluetooth audio is also a massive plus.

For home gaming, you can’t get better than the H1 LED Projector. Boasting incredible HD visuals thanks to a 3000 lumen LED source, the projector also comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate to ensure you don’t miss a beat. Furthermore, a 10-watt integrated speaker elevates experience, completely immersing you in the game, whilst a straightforward LAN port makes it easy to get set up.

Conclusion

We’re seriously impressed by the range of displays ASUS currently offers, both for PC gaming and beyond. Whether you’re a pro gamer, creative professional or just want an elevated visual experience when using your computer, you can find what you need here.
