AMD sent out an email claiming RX 7000 series AMD GPUs get better native performance in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 “when compared to the competition”.

AMD has sent out an email claiming Black Ops 6 is simply better using AMD GPUs. While they didn’t say that directly, they might as well have. The RX 7000 series offers an affordable GPU avenue to pursue gamers looking for performance at a reasonable price (because not all of us can afford an RTX 4090). If you’re looking for a good GPU on which to play Black Ops 6, take this as your sign to pick up an RX 7000 series GPU.

AMD’s claims

Here’s what AMD had to say about its GPUs and the performance of Black Ops 6:

With AMD Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards, players can experience up to 38 percent more performance at native resolutions using the most extreme settings when compared to the competition. Whether you’re surviving a siege or navigating intense firefights, AMD Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards ensure a smooth 60+ FPS gaming experience without the need for upscaling or frame generation

AMD then went on to outline how much the GPUs improve on the competition

  • The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT are up to 22 and 21 percent faster than the competing graphics solutions at native 4K resolution with Extreme settings enabled.
  • The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE, RX 7800 XT, and RX 7700 XT offer up to 16, 22, and 38 percent faster performance at native 1440p resolution using Extreme settings against price-matched competitor solutions, respectively.
  • The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT offers up to 20 percent more FPS at native 1080p resolution and Extreme settings when compared to the competition.

To clarify, these numbers have not been tested by Activision or anyone involved with Call of Duty Black Ops 6, but rather by AMD themselves. It is unclear what they mean by “competition” as a comparison is never directly made, we can only assume it to be the 40 series GPUs.

AMD does well when it comes to both value and pure rasterization performance. Nvidia does have Ray Tracing going for it though. Something AMD still struggles with.

Black Ops 6 is better with AMD

Call Of Duty is no doubt going to be the biggest game of Q4 2024, maybe even 2025 (providing GTA 6 isn’t delayed). And if you want to play the biggest and best blockbuster on the fastest hardware, AMD is the way to go. And with the 9800X3D on the horizon, AMD may also soon dominate the CPU gaming space.
