iCUE LINK was the main focus at Corsair’s impressive Computex showcase booth, delivering a new, simplified design to DIY cooling that looks set to revolutionize the way we think about PC building. And while this was the star of the show, Corsair’s latest iCUE LINK enabled liquid cooling components really grabbed our attention.

Alongside the brand’s new iCUE LINK AIO coolers and fans, Corsair also showcased new liquid cooling CPU and GPU blocks. Both products will feature full compatibility with iCUE LINK, however, the biggest benefit of the newly announced GPU block was its cross-AIB compatible design.

Corsair set to launch hybrid, cross-compatible GPU block

That’s right, the latest Corsair iCUE LINK XG3 RGB Elite will support a number of different AIBs within a single SKU, meaning you’ll be able to purchase any RTX 4090 without worrying about pairing it with the only available GPU block.

Better yet, the XG3 RGB could be generationally compatible if the card’s PCB design stays relatively similar to its predecessor. While that is unsubstantiated, we won’t take anything away from the blocks excellent versatility.

The hybrid design of the GPU block utilizes a single fan and heatsink alongside a liquid cooled cold-plate for excellent heat dissipation. This design allows the GPU and VRAM to be cooled by the liquid cooled cold-plate while the rest of the board – such as the VRM – gets hit by the block’s fan.

Corsair announce XC7 series water cooled CPU blocks

Alongside the brand’s latest water cooled GPU block, Corsair also unveiled the XC7 RGB Elite and XC7 RGB Elite LCD. While both come equipped with a premium-looking nickel-plate copper casing, the XC7 RGB Elite LCD is the only one to feature a thermal-displaying LCD panel.

To allow for this functionality, Corsair had to move the coolant fittings to the side – in a fashion that was more reminiscent of an AIO CLCs. At the time of writing this, it looks like doing so has had no effect on the efficiency of the block’s cooling performance. More over, micro-fin lattices have been utilized to improve the cooling performance of the block, with a coolant-flow channel design that is said to increase efficiency and heat dissipation even further.

Finally, the brand showcased iCUE LINK XD5 RGB Elite and XD5 RGB Elite LCD reservoir/pump combos. These 440ml cylindrical reservoirs will be housed on top of a cuboidal base that will house the pumps as well. As you probably guessed, both models will feature RGB at their core, with the more premium LCD variant offer up real-time coolant thermals via its LCD screen.

Availability for all products looks set to launch in Q3, globally. Pricing at this stage is not confirmed.
