CS2 benchmark data – how bad is it?

As reported by ESTNN, the recent updates in Counter-Strike 2 have unveiled a concerning reality – they’ve significantly impacted the game’s performance, particularly in terms of FPS.

Among the battlegrounds, Overpass has been hit the hardest, experiencing an average frame rate decrease of around 14%. This substantial drop in performance has left players grappling with issues like gameplay stuttering and reduced responsiveness.

Anubis and Mirage, two longstanding favorites within the CS series, have not been spared from the FPS woes either, experiencing substantial drops of 11.6% and 10.7%, respectively. These maps, which have enjoyed a long history of popularity, are now delivering suboptimal gaming experiences for players.

Dust 2, another beloved map in the Counter-Strike repertoire, has also faced a notable decline, with a frame rate drop of approximately 13.49%. This sharp decrease in FPS has left players yearning for the smooth, fast-paced action they once enjoyed on this iconic map.

Inferno, while relatively less affected compared to the others, still witnessed a noticeable dip in frame rate, with a decrease of 7.99%. This change has not gone unnoticed by the discerning Counter-Strike community, which has come to expect consistent and smooth performance on this map.

Vertigo, Nuke, and Ancient have also seen declines in frame rate, with drops of 8.47%, 9.62%, and 9.89%, respectively.

As you can see, the specifications more than exceed the minimum requirements to run CS2, so hardware incompatibility is definitely not a factor in these benchmarks.
