Elgato is a company best known for the Stream Deck, although they have released other products targeted at gamers and streamers such as game capture cards, webcams and a green screen.
The Elgato NEO range covers five new products, all with a complimentary aesthetic design, that are catered more towards the general online creator and productivity user, without having a specific gaming focus (although you can still use them for this). They’re also made to be more accessible to the general consumer, with an easier setup, more streamlined features, and a lower price point.
All of the products are designed to work together in unison via the Stream Deck Neo, which can control the features of all of them at the touch of a button. Each product is made from ‘60% or more recycled plastic’ and has completely plastic free packaging, which is nice to see. Let’s take a closer look at what each of this range has to offer.

The Facecam Neo is a 1080p/Full-HD webcam that records at 60FPS with a 77° field of view. It has a HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode which can be switched on to dynamically improve how the user looks in either high or low light conditions, which is aided by its CMOS sensor, and gives a degree of environmental flexibility for when you’re using it.
As with the rest of the Neo range, ease of use is paramount: the Facecam is compatible with Windows or MacOS, and also works with iPads, in terms of software, it can be used with Twitch, YouTube, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, TikTok, Instagram, Facetime, and more; the camera comes with preloaded plug-and-play settings, so no calibration is needed; it has an autofocus so you don’t have to worry about this yourself
Mounting the Facecam is also designed to be as easy as possible, with an adjustable monitor mount (with ¼” thread) that sits low profile on top of your screen. You get a sildable privacy shutter for the camera lens and the connection comes via a nylon-braided USB cable.

The Wave Neo has great naturalistic sound straight out the box. It comes with a built-in pop filter, headphone output jack round the rear, and an easy tap-to-mute button on the front that glows red to make it absolutely clear when you are/aren’t muted.
Connectivity comes in the form of a nylon braided USB-C to USB-A cable and there’s a nice adjustable cable grip round the back of the stand to keep your setup tidy. Once again the Wave has good compatibility with a range of products besides your standard Windows PC/laptop: including Mac, iPad, iPhone (providing you have the necessary USB-to-Lightning adapter), and even the PlayStation 4 and 5!

The Stream Deck Neo is a compact and sleek looking device that has eight customizable LCD buttons that act as shortcuts to opening up different applications or can perform macro tasks, an information bar at the bottom on which you can display the date, time, or other information, plus two touch points on either side and an adjustable stand.
Although on the face of it you may think you’re limited to eight customizable shortcut buttons, this isn’t actually the case as you can use the Touch Points on either side to switch to different layouts, effectively giving you access to another eight programmable keys. You could, for instance, have one layout set up for shortcuts/info best suited to gaming, one for web browsing, working from home, creative endeavours etc. each with a unique aesthetic.
Besides just being a control keys, you can also have the LCD keys display information such as timezones, dates, stock/currency prices, internal computer temperatures, CPU usage, the weather, and so on. In total there are well over 250 different plugins you can assign to these keys using the Elgato stream deck software, which is very user-friendly.
The Stream Deck Neo is compatible with Windows or Mac operating systems, is plug and play like the rest of the range listed here, and is attached to your computer via a USB-C cable.

The Key Light Neo is a lightweight piece of kit with diffusion lens that can be attached to either your monitor or laptop screen with its adjustable mount. There’s an on/off switch, a dial to adjust brightness and color temperature, and an included USB-C to USB-A cable with a USB-A to USB-A extender. Brightness settings can either be controlled manually or within the desktop/mobile app.
There are two standard presets that the Key Light Neo is pre-programmed with: ‘video lighting’ and ‘desktop illumination’. When set to the video lighting preset, like any good key light, this Neo variant casts a soft, warm glow onto the user’s face, helping to remove shadows and make you look your best: perfect for streaming or video calling. The desktop illumination preset is cooler, more well suited to brightening up your everyday working space. In addition to these you can create your own lighting preset with a color temperature and brightness to suit your needs.
Game Capture Neo

Capture cards are designed to either record gameplay footage or output it to a streaming device in a high-quality, low lag form in as streamlined a manner as possible. As game capture cards are separate from the device you’re gaming on and/or your streaming computer, it means either of these devices will be put under less strain during the streaming/recording process, thereby improving performance.
The Game Capture Neo is capable of 60FPS recording and streaming at 1080p resolution. It’s compatible with PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles as well as Windows PCs and Macs, even with iPads. In terms of Software/platform compatibility it works with OBS, Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Discord, Facebook, Instagram, and of course Elgato Capture.
The Capture Neo comes with a metre long USB-C to USB-A cable. The rear of the device houses HDMI-out, HDMI-in, and USB-C ports. If you’re playing a game on your console and displaying it on TV, you can simply attach the TV to the Capture Neo via the HDMI-in, which will then process it and can export it to your streaming PC via the HDMI-out port.
