A few Halo Infinite users have been experiencing a bug, one that’s restricting their playtime and disallowing them to queue up for any more games until their timer runs down. Well, you might be wondering what you did wrong or what you did to warrant this temporary ban? It’s easy enough, apart from the obvious reasons for getting banned, the most common problem is players quitting their matches early and abandoning the game. And if you even shut down the game prematurely, that will also count as quitting the game.

Sadly, this also counts for if the game crashes. You’ll find that when the game’s back up and running, you were still banned despite the crash. Thankfully, you can decrease your wait time for the ban timer by simply not repeating the issue. Each time you get banned in this way, your timer to rejoin games will increase.

Halo Infinite Ban Timer

When it comes to the ban timer, this is solely if you’ve been banned because you’re leaving prematurely. If you’re causing other problems and breaking various community rules, these ban timers won’t involve you.

Instead, this will be for the players who’ve been leaving early. And you know know, there’s no way to reset or reduce this timer, other than simply waiting. So for those who were unjustly banned because your game crashed, this isn’t exactly fair. Perhaps developers will find a way to filter it a bit better. In the meantime, here is how long you’ll need to wait, depending on what number of bans you’ve had:

  • 1st Ban: 5 minutes
  • 2nd Ban: 15 minutes
  • 3rd Ban: 30 minutes
  • 4th Ban: 1 hour
  • 5th Ban: 3 hours
  • 6th Ban: 16 hours

Good luck in your gaming and remember, don’t leave ahead of the end of the game just because you might be losing. It’ll cost you a longer wait to get into a new game!

Halo Infinite Banned No Timer

What if you’ve been banned but there’s no timer? Well in that case it’ll be for a more serious reason and thus the timer might not be quite as relevant for you. And you may have been banned for various other reasons, like breaking rules or community guidance.

And if you’re still in the ban queue, why not have a read through our two Halo Infinite Reviews?
