Although Jedi: Survivor did indeed come out a handful of years after Jedi: Fallen Order, it’s understandable that some fans would be wondering whether the game takes place before or after the apparent prequel. After all, a bunch of games nowadays have the sequel take place before the prequel, like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Nioh 2.
If you’ve been wondering this as well, then worry not as we’re here to clear up everything regarding the order in which the two games take place.
Does Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Take Place Before or After Fallen Order?
Fortunately for those looking for a straightforward experience instead of having to worry about convoluted timelines, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place after Jedi Fallen Order.
To be more specific, it takes place a good five years after the events of Fallen Order, which means you can expect to see some major changes both in the world as well as with the character making his much-awaited return, Cal Kestis.
For starters, in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Cal is much more seasoned, both as an individual and as a Jedi. Gone is the uncertain Padawan who had hidden from the empire for years, reluctant to use his lightsaber despite all the injustice that was going on in the world around him.
Instead, we’ll fill the shoes of a Cal that’s now a full-fledged Jedi who has been combating the empire for years now.
As for the rest of the Mantis crew from the first game, we know Cal’s trusty droid BD-1 will be making a return too to make for some excellent merchandise opportunities. However, we have yet to find out whether the rest of the crew, namely Cere, Greez, and Merrin, will be joining Cal on this adventure as they did in Fallen Order.
