The current generation of graphics cards still has something to offer. With Nvidia’s offerings seemingly all filled, it’s going for the route of more suffixes to fit more models in its lineup. Now with the RTX 4070 Ti Super rumored, how many suffixes do you need or how many can we expect to see?

With so many GPUs available now in the lineup, there is a lot to choose from. Although some of the latest releases might be a bit stale and underwhelming, as the latest RTX 4060 Ti and 4060 didn’t quite live up to what we expected to see. With specs that won’t last for years and not a great value proposition, Nvidia is still continuing in hopes of providing even more choice and variety.

There’s no way that this GPU is real

Unfortunately, the naming schemes are becoming even more ridiculous seemingly. It’s not even the first one of the generation, let’s not forget how Nvidia had to unlaunch the RTX 4080 12GB just over a year ago to instead come out with the RTX 4070 Ti in its place. Then the 4060 range is similar with the same card but with VRAM and price differences alone.

The new card would seemingly uplift the capabilities of the 4070 Ti but put it below the RTX 4080. There’s no surprise in that as we have had the Ti cards for a couple of generations now, but never a Ti Super. We had Supers with the 20 series, and the 30 series had the Titanium options. But now we might get a bit of both.

Rumors suggest that the 4070 Ti Super specs would put the CUDA count 700 more than the 70 Ti, but 1,280 less than the 4080 as it suggested to have 8,448 cores. It also suggests that the power specification will stay the same providing an even better efficiency for the 285W it has. But the price is already high, and with the increase in power, we’d think it only increase so it would be all rather expensive if the card even exists, as with the naming we still can’t believe it.

With so many options, it would be no surprise to see the likes of a Titan get the same treatment. We might yet see the Titan RTX Ti Super to confuse you, which might be what happens with its 4070 Ti Super.

Will an RTX 4070 Ti Super come out?

Despite our disbelief at the naming convention, there are plenty of rumors out there that point to the existence of an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. In fact, Nvidia are slated to announce a whole line-up of RTX 40-series SUPER cards as per current speculation. According to Chinese outlet IT Home, there is likely to be three models on their way – all of which will be announced at CES 2024. Those models would be the RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and finally an RTX 4080 Super release date on the way to cap it off.

Exciting news if you’re interested in some new SKUs, even if we think that we don’t need something like an RTX 4080 Super. Either way, CES looks to be an exciting time for all – not just for graphics cards.
