RTX 4080 price compared to previous generations

Looking back at the cost of the previous generation, we see a great increase from what the cards have cost previously. In the same RTX 4000 series release, there is the RTX 4090, which itself has an MSRP of $1,599.

Neither cost as much last the RTX 3090 Ti which came out for $1,999. Whilst the RTX 3090 had an MSRP of $1,499. So the new RTX 4080 still at least is cheaper than that, although you might find the older card even cheaper now.

Whereas it is more closely priced to what the RTX 3080 Ti came out for. Which had an MSRP of $1,199 which is extra on top of the initial 3080 pricing. As the 3080 10 GB was $699 and the 12GB was $799.

Which shows an uptick in the performance expected of the new card. Although we have to wait and see the performance of it to see if it’s worth the extra cost.

RTX 4080 price FAQ

What is the RTX 4080 price in the UK?

The RTX 4080 has a UK price of £1,269. However, with scalping and custom models, this may not be the price you pay for your card. As there are both opportunities for scalping with limitations as the 4090 stock has seen. Also, custom models will ask for a higher price than the FE model due to cost margins so another factor that will change the price.

What is the RTX 4080 price in the US?

For the Founder’s Edition, the US price or MSRP comes in at $1,199. That’s the price for the Nvidia model of the card, as the rest of the custom AIBs will likely go for more. They offer more than the base model and have more margins to deal with and so with lack of stock it will also inflate prices.
