Do Galaxy phone prices drop when a new one is released?

Yes, although not by a huge amount. The fact is that the Galaxy S23 standard variant isn’t massively improved over the Galaxy S22, so don’t expect there to be a massive price difference between the two.

Currently we’ve already seen the Galaxy S22 drop by $100 to $699. It may be that it drops further again when the Galaxy S23 release date has come to pass, but don’t expect huge further reductions.

The S23 Ultra however will seen a decent range of improvements, and we’ve already seen the S22 Ultra drop by $300, and may yet drop a little bit further.
