The wait is almost over, the adventure is about to begin! On January 28th, Critical Role’s The Legend of Vox Machina will premier on Amazon Prime. For fans of the D&D live play show, this is the culmination of years of anticipation. And the anticipation may be about to reach a fever pitch. The Legend of Vox Machina’s main voice cast has previously been confirmed as the stars of Critical Role, which was always to be the case. But now the curtain has been pulled back. The rest of the voice cast has been fully revealed via a Youtube update and Kickstarter backer email.

Vox Machina’s Allies and Enemies

The full Legend of Vox Machina voice cast is as star-studded as anyone possibly could have hoped for, filled with friends of the show and acclaimed voice-actors alike. In addition to the video put out by Critical Role, here is the confirmed list, as sent to Kickstarter backers:

Stephanie Beatriz as Lady Kima

Anjali Bhimani as Head Cleric

Eugene Byrd as Jarrett

Esmé Creed-Miles as Cassandra de Rolo

Felicia Day as Captain of Emon

Darin De Paul as Kerrion Stonefell

Tony Hale as Sir Fince

Bobby Hall aka Logic as Palace Guard

The Kickstarter message also states ‘”There are also a few incredible folks we have yet to introduce for spoiler reasons… We think you’ll enjoy meeting them when the time comes. ” The Legend of Vox Machina has been confirmed for two seasons already. Could these “spoiler reasons” have to do with characters from future seasons? And if so, could we expect cameo appearances in season one? An intriguing prospect to be sure.

The big reveals

In a cast stacked with big names, here are some of the most intriguing set to feature in The Legend of Vox Machina:

Felicia Day

Given that Critical Role got its start on Day’s gaming website Geek and Sundry, it feels only right that she put in an appearance here. Though her character seems less than significant on the cast list, time will tell how much of a part she has to play.

Grey Griffin

A prolific and well-respected voice actor, Griffin is perhaps best known for her chilling work as Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Griffin will no doubt deliver a world-class performance as Lady Briarwood. But her association with the show could herald a long-held dream of the Critical Role cast coming to life. Mark Hamill played Azula’s father, Fire Lord Ozai, on the same show. Would it be out of the question for him to appear in The Legend of Vox Machina? There are a few villains in the show’s world that his distinctive tones would be perfect for.

David Tennant

As a character with great importance to Vox Machina’s pre-stream adventures, viewers will delight in seeing General Krieg on-screen for the first time. It will also be very interesting to see how Tennant plays Krieg’s nature. He has more than enough experience playing charismatic heroes and villains alike. This is sure to be one of the most memorable performances in a show promising to be full of them.

Dominic Monaghan

It’s Merry! Lord of The Rings Merry!  The Legend of Vox Machina has seemingly resisted the urge to cast Monaghan as a halfling, unless Desnay has been changed specifically for the show. If so, honestly, who could blame them?

Bobby Hall, aka Logic

In addition to these titans of fandom, the most surprising inclusion here is Bobby Hall, aka retired rap artist Logic. If you are a long-time follower of Critical Role media however, this association is not such a shock. Hall was previously interviewed as part of the Between the Sheets interview series on the Critical Role channel. As such, his association with the show goes back a long way. It will be interesting to see what kind of performance he gives, even as a cameo.

The Adventure Begins…

Fans of Critical Role have been waiting feverishly for The Legend of Vox Machina since the Kickstarter was first announced. Now with the voice cast revealed, the adventure is closer than ever. So it’s time to sit back, relax and let the dice fall where they may.
