The launch of RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti has created a big question in our minds – which one is better? Which card should we buy? The 3060 Ti was launched in the year 2020 and came at a moderate price. It works great for both 1080p and 1440p. It doesn’t give an incredible performance in 4k, but if you lower the settings, you can experience an average performance in some games.
Specifications-wise, the RTX 3070 has everything better than the 3060 Ti. But this difference is marginal. 3060 Ti card has 8GB of VRAM and 4,864 CUDA cores, almost double the previous generation graphic cards.
Nvidia’s RTX 3070 was launched in October 2020. This card has similar features as the 3060 Ti, but it faced stocking issues when it was launched. Along with 1080p and 1440p, this GPU also works well for the 4k.
With the ray tracing features, it provides an incredible gaming performance. It also offers 8GB VRAM, which is the same as the 3060 ti but has a higher clock speed and more RT and CUDA cores.
Specifications-wise, the 3070 is better than the 3060 Ti. But, regarding performance wise, the difference is quite marginal. The only major difference between these two cards that set them apart is the ray tracing ability on each card. If you use ray tracing in 3070, it will deliver better performance because it has more CUDA and RT cores.
However, if ray tracing is not much of a concern to you, you can go for 3060 Ti. It can be concluded that 3070 is definitely a good card, but for $100 more, the improvement is not worth it. If your budget is high and needs little upgradation in performance, you can go for RTX 3070, or else you can stick to the RTX 3060 Ti.
Is the RTX 3070 better than PS5?
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 could change how the mid-range PC gaming market is perceived. Suppose all of Nvidia’s claims are accurate, including those relating to the improvements in IO performance and raw graphics performance. In that case, the RTX 3070 will be a better purchase than the PS5 and Xbox Series X, especially if you already own a good gaming PC.
With no checkerboard rendering, low-resolution settings, or loss of anti-aliasing, the RTX 3070 will be significantly more capable of offering amazing 4K gaming performance than the consoles. If you currently have a rig and are seeking to upgrade, the cost will be roughly the same. The only games that won’t be available on PC are Nintendo titles, as both Xbox and PlayStation games will be available there. Why would you ever play a game on a console if you can run all of these games better on one single system?
Is the RTX 3070 better than a 2080 Ti?
The RTX 3070 is undoubtedly the most intriguing card of its generation because it has the power to run 4K games at excellent frame rates while also supporting ray tracing. It might compete well with the RTX 2080 Ti, the flagship of the previous generation.
The RTX 3070 has a far higher number of CUDA cores, but it’s not nearly as straightforward as the numbers imply. When required, the INT32 cores of the RTX 3000-series may also function as more conventional FP32 CUDA cores. In other words, the RTX 3070 has 2,944 standard CUDA cores and an additional 2,944 cores. 4,352 (FP32) CUDA cores and an additional 4,352 INT32 cores make up the RTX 2080 Ti’s core count. While it has a larger number of CUDA cores overall than the RTX 3070, they are less powerful. They also use the design model from the previous generation. As a result, the RTX 3070 works well for many games.
The 2080 Ti has much better memory bandwidth because of its larger memory capacity and memory bus. This isn’t as important at lesser resolutions like 1080p and 1440p, but likely at 4K. In the near future, the 2080 Ti might outperform the 3070, in particular, AAA games at 4K, since some titles already require up to 10GB of memory.
The RTX 3070 continues to be ranked as the best graphics card available. Thanks to the innovative architectures that make use of the second and third-generation RT and tensor cores. It is estimated that it will routinely outperform the 2080 Ti in the majority of settings and overall performance. In the long run, the 3070’s memory restrictions might make it more appropriate for a high frame rate of 1440p than 4K. Using the 8GB range shouldn’t be a problem if you slightly decrease from a higher resolution.
