The recently announced Apple Vision Pro is generating considerable excitement among tech enthusiasts, positioning itself as the ultimate augmented reality device on the market. Despite its steep price tag and being compared to ski goggles, the Vision Pro presents a visually stunning design, accompanied by a plethora of captivating features and potential applications. while Apple entertained us with some breathtaking footage and adverts at the WWDC keynote, we were left guessing what the Vision Pro FOV might be, along with a few other specs such as resolution and weight but at least we know it features 23 million pixels. While we can roughly figure out a few key specs, the FOV remains a mystery but for $3499, we are expecting a leading figure.

Apple Vision Pro FOV prediction

For the price, many people in the VR/AR community are crying out for the micro-OLED displays to feature 180° field of view, however, there is some speculation that black can be seen in the peripheral and this is a very unlikely spec. Apple really should of released the full specifications but the keynote and subsequent product page is all a little bit vague. You can probably expect to see around110° horizontal and around 90°+ vertical, however, nothing is confirmed at this stage. An FOV figure will give those looking to potentially buy this headset a better idea on clarity when say, watching a movie in 4K.

The Meta Quest Pro features a 106° horizontal and 96° vertical, while the Pico 4 104° x 104°, and the HTC Vive pro at 107.06° x 107.71°. While the FOV may not be a deal breaker for some, it would be nice to pair something substantial with the impressive sounding operating system (visionOS), cameras, and general hardware.
